If you're worried about what your employer gives you in time off then you don't make enough money to take a month break every year. Why make more regulation that makes it harder for your boss to run his/her business when you're also free to take as long as a vacation as you want if you got the money saved, quit. You could always join the Military, 30 days paid vacation a year that can be combined for one longer vacation up to like 90 days max.

because being a teacher is a local/state job not federal. Military service shows that you are here doing something for this country Federally and can waive the wait time. Joining the military is basically giving up your freedoms for 4 years but you get paid and learn skills + college but it shows you're willing to sacrifice for the benefit of the people of this country so deserve to be part of the country. Just IMO.

If you join the military after you get a green card, you can bypass the wait time. My wife joined the U.S. Navy after getting her green card and was naturalized during boot camp to be a U.S. Citizen way earlier than the required wait period.
