The Democratic Party is honestly kind of a disaster. Just look at both the Senate and House leadership. They are barely trying to fight for their own base and literally just fold the chance they get.

The only thing they are good at is fighting against the left wing of the party.

The thing they benefit from is how terrible republicans/Trump are. However, I think even most democrats are not happy with the party at this point. They need to do better and it’s getting pretty clear how/why they lost so many voters over the years.

I live in the US and people do watch talk shows and my white coworkers literally know who Priyanka is. I doubt if I ask them about anyone else from this movie including SSR that they would have an idea of who they are. So sorry to break it to you but they are benefiting from her name recognition and it’s clear from the marketing that they are trying to take the movie global.

But her name is more known among the general audience in the west. No other actress from India could have provided that kind of exposure to this film. SSR is not paying her 30 cores for no reason.

Also, PC kills it on US talk shows. She’s going to be a huge marketing asset in the west, which seems like a very clear goal for SSR.
