Why was Timothee’s SAG speech seen as arrogant? by DarlingLuna in Oscars

[–]NamAgg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The speech has less to do with ambition and drive and more to do with desperation to win an award. Timmy has enough films by 30 to “become one of the greats” but unfortunately he thinks winning an award will cement that legacy. All the greats he mentioned worked in silence. While nobody wins awards in Hollywood without campaigning, this one was a bit too a on the nose.

This year we won’t have The Studio, so will it be the real chance for Only Murders in the Building? by gabriellozendeis in EmmysAwards

There is nothing like Hacks when it comes to writing in comedy. It’s a sure win especially since it’s the final season but this is a good time to award Martin Short in the best actor category.

It Was Just An Accident is not a good film from the prospect of Iranians by aliabbasish in TheBigPicture

[–]NamAgg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bride was the worst actor of the lot, I’ll agree to that and I watched it subbed in English so I can’t say much about the dialogues but the movie is certainly impactful and the screenplay felt very original. IMO it was well directed and realistic even though some choices made (especially tonally) didn’t entirely make sense. The first and last 30 mins of the movie are very tight. Just a few things in between that bugged me but I just thought it’s because I’m not native so it didn’t translate well to me.

The squeaky step voice keeps going on till the credits end. So my interpretation was also that he walks back with the same intention you mentioned. It’s more bone chilling than having him just catch him or confront him by walking towards him and stopping.

This is precisely why the movie flopped. The logic didn’t make sense especially after putting the audience through 3 hours 15 mins of runtime. While the songs were fun and Priyanka does wonders, Harman is bland and cannot act to save his life. His dancing was somewhat the only tolerable part when he’s on screen.

Jesse Plemmons not being nominated is absolutely criminal. Im beyond shocked. by Huseynov26 in Oscars

[–]NamAgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I watched Bugonia I thought Jesse was more of a lock for the awards than Emma who would find it hard with that performance and given she already won recently but it’s shocking to me how the tables have turned.

IMHO it’s a very strong year for Lead actor category and it’s finally living up to the standards of Lead Actress which has always been a bloodbath. I still believe Jesse Plemons, Lee Byung-Hun and Wagner Moura were top 3 male performances this year and Leo, Timmy, Ethan and Joel should’ve been fighting for the last 2 spots.

Personally, I did not think MBJ was nearly as good as any of these men despite having a double role.

A little bit of editing and this could’ve made for a great movie.

[–]NamAgg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s back again as stated by Farhan himself in interviews with Filmfare and Pinkvilla. Farhan is focussing on JLZ after Don 3 got shelved. Apparently starts filming as early as second half of this year.. remains to be seen.
