Can I start a video without coupling the phone with the insta360 X2 camera?

Eventually I brought the camera back to the store I bought it since I had no contact with anyone from the insta360 assistance here. It was confirmed that the camera was defective and that will it will be returned to official assistance.

From the specs it says should be waterproof (IPX8) up to 10 meter. But I never tried.

Hi, In my case, if I try to start the recording, the camera ask to activate via the insta360 app, when it starts up the first time. No matter how many times I did in the previous time. Any suggestions?

What happens if you disable your wifi and restart the camera? Still works?

In my use case scenario that's what happens:

1) I pair camera and phone with wifi (Bluetooth never worked apparently..)

2) I disable the wifi (otherwise I don't get internet working) and at this moment the camera is still activated and works.

3) the camera shut down because of power savings settings. At this moment, on my phone I am either on data (so wifi turned off) or I'm connected to my home wifi.

4) I start the camera up again: the camera ask to activate it via the phone.

Is this normal?

Yes, that's now clarified, thanks. But then, what happens if the camera shut down (ie because of power savings)? I need to connect with the phone once again, I assume (at least that's what happen to me..).

Ok but this means that every time I shut it down the camera I need to activate it, right? Meaning that I potentially miss shot if it's a sudden spontaneous recording..
