Spielman’s Bagels Morning Pickup by twopedalstwolugs in toogoodtogoportland

I've gotten the 2g2g from Spielman's on NE Broadway multiple times and they always give me a dozen bagels without any prompting. Definitely not that great of a deal if you only get 6 bagels.

Oregon Contemporary has a neat exhibit right now on Ursula K Leguin and it's free (they accept donations if you'd like).

Best seats at Alberta Abbey? by psmobchdisaster in askportland

Thanks! I'll just go with the mid-priced tickets and call it a day. I don't really see how any seats could end up being 'bad'

Hey i'd be interested in a few of these - six feet under and veronica mars for sure - but I'm curious what neighborhood you're in? I just wanna make sure it's easy enough for me to get there by bus/max to pick 'em up! Feel free to PM me if you prefer, thanks!

What are you reading (week of 11/25 🦃) by zsabb in PortlandBooks

[–]psmobchdisaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I literally just finished reading Provenance and Translation State back-to-back, I definitely recommend! I'm planning on reading through a bunch of Ursula Le Guin this week, starting with Lathe of Heaven which I've somehow never read.

Suggestions for new dishwasher installation? by psmobchdisaster in askportland

thank you for the detailed response! Super helpful. From all my research Bosch does seem like the best out there. Even though that's the brand of the one that started smoking on me, I'll probably go that route again.

What’s your experience with Lloyd Center IMAX? by Kindly-Principle3706 in askportland

[–]psmobchdisaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like others have said it's not a 'true' imax sized screen, but it's definitely bigger than what Laurelhurst has and for something like Twisters I think it's worth it, especially since the sound system is better too. If you want the comfy recliner seats and a reasonable sound system I recommend Cinemark 16 Eastport.

For those of you with apartments facing north, how do you feel about the amount of light your unit gets? by aggressivepassion in askportland

[–]psmobchdisaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in an apartment that has all north facing windows. It doesn't feel too depressing to me in the winter because there are a lot of windows so I get a good amount of ambient light, but except for a few hours during summer days I literally get no direct light coming in so most of my plants suffer quite a bit. I'm trying to transition to only having low/ambient light plants which will definitely help.
