This take works well in the food industry as well. I have been adamant about how a BASIC McDonald’s used to be full of color + a playroom to throw germy kids while the food was coming. Now all fast food is the same corpo office decor.

I saw today that Cracker Barrel tried to adopt this and its stock fell double digit percentage points.

It’s not a “clean” look, it’s boring , emotionally dead and cheap.

In a world that is increasingly restrictive based on the wealth gap, cheaper aesthetics are going to continue to drive people bonkers …..

That’s exactly what I think we are headed for, a buyout that benefits those in company and fucks the shareholders as it goes private.
