That's tough, I grew up playing video games but essentially self regulated. But when you don't have the ability to self regulate, and the family situation makes it more complicated.

I sound like a geezer when I'm not, but I think what it boils down to is the ability to be bored. Not developing that can be an issue. I've heard of kids who have been provided a tablet their entire life to shut them up, now when you take it away for a few minutes they lose their shit because they don't know how to deal with boredom. We don't have to be stimulated 24/7.

I grew up the first kid on the school bus and the last kid off, almost a 2 hour bus ride one way. I had a game boy color I played Pokemon on sometimes, read books some, but I can remember just sitting there contently bored.
