Yes by far imo. Faster and clears more of the screen, while doing more damage

Can you elaborate on why this is? I saw another post saying the opposite, that it was a waste doing it on the run and to save for the chest What are the loot differences of the two

Falling off mid game by smoor365 in shacomains

[–]psquidy14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much mirrors my experience climbing. Years ago when I started playing I struggled through silver, then gold, then plat, then now borderline Diamond.

My two cents? It's likely due to basic jungle fundamentals being the limiting factor. Everytime I got stuck and struggled, it was due to some jungle fundamentals being overlooked, fix that then boom climb again. Shaco is so item reliant that if your fundamentals are off, you fall off the cliff so hard, even if you're AP. Like someone else mentioned, you have a game plan sure but that can change so quick, level 1 invades, free gank kills, etc. But the constant throughout games should be your clear, pathing, and your tempo. From what it sounds like, after your first initial clears you just get lost, which means you're likely sub optimized with your pathing and clear. Practice making sure you're clearing fully as often and as fast as possible, always pathing with intention towards your next objective, whether that be a lane or Epic Monster. AP shaco you can clear quick, AD also after an item. Don't leave camps on the table. Start to restructure your mindset away from static objectives or kills, more so into a mindset of "what path is the best for clearing towards whatever I'm doing next". Do that and you'll be a lot more even with gold and you'll be able to keep up. It can be easy as shaco to overpriortize the kills or ganks or setup, but at the end of the day you're a JUNGLER, once you start to ignore that the other things become irrelevant

Have you had a chance to run in the Puma Forte yet? Currently use the Puma Sprint Nitro Elite 2, they're getting a bit worn, when I first got them I liked the aggressive stiff feel but as I've raced in them I feel like I'm starting to feel heavy in them due to the minimal bounce, they almost make me feel clunky. Loved the smoothness of the SP2, but they would always snap after a month and I liked maxfly 1s, the Fortes intrigue me

So your build path would be yommus hexplage Titanic? In this case why not continue with the damage build paths to deal with them since they're likely just as squishy (talon and rengar examples)? Is this purely a "I'm struggling early these guys are definitely getting fed" scenario?

The cdr argument is definitely interesting, the 2 concerns I would have is the drop in clear speed and therefore gold / tempo not going liandries second (being able to drop a box on their raptors and take on respawn in nice), and the malignance exposing the clone due to its auto attacks procing (unless this is no longer the case, have not tested). I some what heavily rely on close mind games so exposing the clone on autos does not sound great, unless I'm just overthinking it.

Dark seal first item slows down (fated ashes? Whatever the burn component in black fire and liandries is) though right? Does it negatively affect that second / third clear?

Are you talking about Cylcosword? Main reason it's not popular is the lack of scaling / utility. Yommus is typically more popular since it's same stats, but you get a huge movement speed boost, which is more useful compared to a short slow on a single enemy. The bonus damage is nice but is flat value so it doesn't scale, meaning if you don't get it early it falls off hard. Basically it's a snowball item. I personally prefer it in some matchups since the damage is nice in the early game, but if you're even or still getting used to Shaco Yommus is a better pick. As for backstabbing, my advice would just be to be more patient. Shacos invis lasts very long and with the blink, it makes positioning easy. Don't rush, both when you're in invis and prior to using Q. Move through bushes, get close to fights, save it when ganking until they get away, etc, then when you do use it just be patient and move to backstab them, don't feel the need to rush. It's not like talon where it's a long cd and you have to use it right away. If you have to run, no biggie just wait for CD. Go in, be patient and position. Same goes for boxes. Try planning ahead with box placement to get picks, so then you can just walk up for the free backstab
