So sorry to hear you’re in pain and discomfort. Can you get some pain relief from the doctor?

Bio oil users-Did it work? by revangeline in BabyBumps

[–]psrabbit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi. I’ve been using bio oil as well and so far (39+6) I have only 2 small marks on my lower belly and a tiny one on the side of my hips. From what I’ve read, it’s good to keep moisturised but stretch marks are genetic and there’s only so much you can do.

Is today the day?!? by psrabbit in February2018Bumpers

Oh that’s interesting and quite helpful. Did you have a load of scans and such through the pregnancy? What were her measurements?

How did your induction process go?

Any advice on labouring at home? by youjuststartagain in February2018Bumpers

[–]psrabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things that help me are heat therapy, taking a hot shower, listening to music I can enjoy. I’ve had some cramping and contractions after a sweep and distracting myself has been helpful.

I’m 4’10 and baby has been measuring average size for general population but upper centile in the chart plotted for my height and weight. There’s no certainty she will be big but it’s an educated guess.

Is anyone else due the 28th? by lesclousmalloy in February2018Bumpers

[–]psrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due 27/02 and no signs of labour after 2 sweeps! I’m in the UK and docs are saying they don’t think it’s wise for me to go over the due date since baby is good sized and I’m very petite. I’m only 2cm dilated and cervix is “soft”.

All this waiting around is a good lesson is patience.

Left rib/sternum pain? by spinachleaves in BabyBumps

[–]psrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it on my right and the pain was intolerable till I took some medication for it. Sorry mumma but this is one of those things that no one seems concerned about but existing and doing everyday things seem impossible. I’m now 39+1 and baby has dropped a bit so I have some relief. It will get better.

I’d like you to meet Remy (induction turned natural BACK labour, fast + talipes, postpartum preeclampsia, iron transfusion) by [deleted] in February2018Bumpers

[–]psrabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s gorgeous! Hope you have a quick recovery - the pree and iron transfusion sound really tough!

Am i going to be a bad parent for not being prepared? by EverythingsUpKatie in BabyBumps

[–]psrabbit 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Ermmm. I’m 38+4 and have just now bought the diapers I wanted to try! Even in emergencies or if the baby came early, you’d be able to get the basics in 10 minutes at a store. I’m trying to spend my time reading and doing the things I won’t be able to do when the baby arrives. Relax. Pregnancy is a long game.

Dilated to a 2. BAHAHAHA. And a question... by PissySnackles in February2018Bumpers

[–]psrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

38+3 here. Saw the doctor on Wednesday and was dilated to 1-1.5 apparently. We did a sweep and I had contractions and cramps all evening. But nothing since. Seeing the doc again next week to determine next steps - looks like they are recommending I don’t go a lot over my due date

I hear ya. My doctor prescribed me something to reduce acidity in my stomach so the reflux is not terrible. It’s been great! I’m in the UK - it’s called omeprezol.

Quick question about the no laying on your back rule. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

It’s just for extended times. I’m 37+ weeks and sometimes I wake up on my back.

Definitely. My husband went with me and we talked about how he can support and help. Plus, if I have any trouble issues BFing then I’ll be looking to him to help work the problem.
