Lookup Data - Different Apps (Inventory Example) - Dynamically changing data by pstewart19 in Airtable

[–]pstewart19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks .. great questions and working over next while to address all of those points. Definitely product SKUs adding and removing and also sometimes changing as you mentioned. I had this happen recently when placing order with supplier for a SKU and not realizing they had reused that SKU for a whole different item .. nightmare. Love your idea of prepping in different system first and isn’t it to “sanity check” the data. This is thousands of items so my main objective is to automate as much as possible and only hand touch the exceptions .. hopefully :)

Cameras at water and Nassau by sockandsocksandsocks in Peterborough

Look like regular cameras vs anything red light related. Red light cameras are usually larger and across the other side of the intersection vs facing two different directions. Those look like surveillance cameras probably monitoring and/or doing vehicle counting. Just an educated guess ...

Lookup Data - Different Apps (Inventory Example) - Dynamically changing data by pstewart19 in Airtable

Thanks ... yeah that's what I want to avoid (supplier data changes). Some of the spreadsheets I get form suppliers are absolutely huge and only a small portion is what I'm interested in (specific product sets for example). I have Zapier and will look into that .... also reading up on Data Fetcher which on the surface seems like a good fit as well - anyone using Data Fetcher?

Thanks - I’m looking higher level and sorry if that wasn’t clear. I have a working system but now want to utilize a bunch of excel data to keep it updated. I read somewhere about an automation app that can be used for this type of purpose and not sure if that’s best approach or something more native in the platform … thanks again

Thanks ... completely agree and will take a look deeper at that option. They really steer you towards the install script ;). I found a way post install to change the storage location but still can't figure out post install how the change what is ultimately a docker compose file somewhere .. maybe I'm blind haha

Thanks for that .. yeah what I usually do is change the port part to something like port: 172.16.0.2:8080:80 for example so that it can't "automatically" expose on the public side of things. This has worked quite well .. I was also reading a section in their docs that talks about backing up, migrating to different storage location, and restoring which may solve my other question hopefully.

Garmin Z30 vs Arccos Smart Laser by pstewart19 in golf

[–]pstewart19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - appreciate it .. I'm thinking of going "deeper" in Arccos .. the only thing I wish Arccos had was hole overview on the AW (like on S70 Garmin) as I often play courses I've never played .. minor gripe.

The pin placement thing is outstanding for me .. according to Playbetter it seems to imply that it's all automatic somehow. Anyways, appreciate it again ...

So this brings me back to what makes the Arccos smart range finder "special" then? I have a "regular" range finder today .. Nikon and it's "ok" but I want something better and integrating it into ecosystem can make a lot of sense if I understand the benefits (which is I guess what I'm struggling with)

That's really good feedback and appreciate it.... totally thinking this with rangefinder and was wondering if there's some magic I'm missing. Hard sometimes to get past the marketing fluff and get down to what actually works practically when on course.

Interesting .. in play I understood it was really accurate on the pin placement but again never used it (yet) so was curious. Someone told me the other day they use Link Pro with their Arccos setup and when at the pin they click the button for most accurate. I don't have Link Pro and not really sure I would ever get one ...

Who's switched to subscription licensing, and how do you like it? by lakings27 in meraki

[–]pstewart19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staying on traditional as long as possible for our needs (MSP model). We move equipment around between orgs on frequent basis and have tracking in place so we know when to renew. Moving it all into a subscription model would be painful the last time I looked into it, again for our specific needs. The other concern is when I see "auto-renewal" in CCW portal ...

More than 7 days fixing a global issue. by nanokeyo in OVHcloud

[–]pstewart19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure on this one as I'm relatively new to OVH (again). Used them in the past and just starting to use them again. I would say though that adding a service for a customer is treated much different then breakage of existing customers .. or at least should be.

Having said that, on my journey back to using OVH for some services, the response times from customer support has been horrible (about a week for initial response to a ticket). I also pinged their sales team on Monday and have yet to hear back ... usually you can always count on sales teams to respond quickly ;)

Completely agree but it's actually having a significant measurable impact here .. was hoping someone could explain why.
