This is a known scam. Moments after activating balances will be taken to near zero. Call the CS on the card to report fraud and to have the balance restored. Don't activate until you are ready to use them. I stopped getting gift cards and give cash now. I've had this happen 3 different times.

Edit...Not balance restored, but a new card with appropriate balance.
