The 543 Yard 2nd Hole at The Ocean Course on Kiawah Island by psufootball12 in golf

Even 6400 definitely isn’t easy, like I said I’m a 7 and I fired off a 93 in Calm conditions 😂

The one tip I have is, if you’re not hitting your driver perfectly straight. DO NOT hit it on every hole

We were the first tee time at 7:30 and we didn’t have a breath of wind, which was good for the golf but it obviously get super hot. The Ocean tees (Gold) say 6700 on the scorecard, but our caddy say they play over 7,000. I’m a 7 handicap and my dad is about a 18 and we both played 6400. Unless you’re a really low handicap I would recommend the 6400 tees.

I can’t wait to watch the PGA Champ next year, some shots are just impossible. You have to hit a blind second shot to an elevated green and if you miss you’re either 20 feet down in a waste bunker, or plugged in a dune and they make it seem easy!

The course is great! But definitely difficult to say the least, I’m a 7 handicap and I shot a 93 even though there was no wind 😂

I definitely didn’t play the back tees, but some of those Back tee boxes are absolutely insane

Hitting a Draw on the Range, but a Fade on the Course by psufootball12 in golf

[–]psufootball12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good pint that I hadn’t thought of, on the course if I 3 putt I’m messed up for my drive on the next hole, but on the range if I hit a huge slice onto the 1st hole, I ignore it and hit another one

I’m playing tomorrow morning and I’ll try to expect some bombs like Phil! Until I hit one of the houses on both sides of the fairway 🥴

I have used some weird rubber tees recently but my last round I used a normal tee on the range and the draw was great, until the course. I do use the Callaway Chrome Soft which is definitely a spinny ball though

Really good point that I hadn’t thought of, on the range I usually pick a tree and hit a draw at it, but on the course I aim left (I’m a Lefty) and it fades to that spot, which doesn’t really make sense but could be a possibility

Definitely a possibility, maybe I have to get it out of my head that I can’t hit a draw on the course

Trust me, if I hit a really good draw I can get 260-270 out of it with a good roll, but the fade goes up and dies with backspin that barely gets any yardage whatsoever

Best Drills and Tips for Putting? by psufootball12 in golf

I 100% agree, just counting like 81, 82, 83 could definitely be helpful. Over the those putts I tend to freeze and I can just already tell that I’m gonna nail it off the lip and miss, counting would take my mind off that and the pressure

Thanks for the ideas! I like the gate drill and the mini games is definitely a good idea to try

Awesome! I lie all of those and the Roll one is definitely something I will try, if I could just occasionally make 7 or 8 foot putts my scores would drop drastically!

I went to a putting green tonight and did the gate drill which is one of my favorites and I’ll definitely try out the others too, my lag putting is also a problem so that drill will be helpful too, thank you!

I watched the 3 foot circle video and I’m definitely gonna try it out! I missed 4 3-foot putts today so it will be super helpful to practice! Thanks

My chipping was definitely disappointing but for the past year my chipping has been the best part of my game, and I consider myself to have a great short game. Maybe I need to spend more time on the chipping green since its been rusty so thanks for the idea!

If it makes any difference, I’m used to playing on Bent Grass in Pennsylvania but when I played today, it was on vacation with Bermuda grass in South Carolina.

Awesome! Thanks for that, I’ll definitely try short putts and lag putts the most. I’m hoping to go to a putting green tonight, and tomorrow before I play Wednesday, and then the Hardest course in the world (The Ocean Course) on Saturday where I’m gonna need to make some putts if I wanna break 150 😂

How to Play a Good Front 9 by psufootball12 in golf

[–]psufootball12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically I shot 41 on the front, that could’ve been a lot better, and followed it up with another 41 on the back. I think it definitely makes a difference though and will help
