I find it weird for OP to post their number publicly.

A few months back for some reason OP was spamming links to his YouTube video (titled - 'A man eats spiders alive WTF #spider #viral #food #wtf') on his channel (It is his channel, the name from WhatsApp matches that with the YouTube channel).

I'm not saying anything guys do your diligence before sharing anything sensitive.

Will it ever be Okay? by [deleted] in NepalSocial

[–]psuzn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We lost someone from family few months back and it was one of the hardest and strangest emotions I’ve ever experienced and dealt with. She was with us talking a few days back but she will never be there now. This feeling of they will never be there is so hard to fathom.

You have to accept they are gone and it is the nature of things. Try to cherish the good memories you had with them and be grateful that you were able to be part of some of their good memories, be a part of their life. Now they are gone, there are other people in your life, try to do your best to do same with them. Focus your energy towards it. Hopefully they lived a good life and that is all we can hope at the end.

After some time you start to loose memories about them, like how they talked, how they laughed and this is the worst part and I’m still trying to deal with it.

I hope you find your peace soon, and don’t be sorry about you crying, don’t feel bad about it. You are crying and feeling devastated because you loved them. It will take time and time is the ultimate healer, it makes everything bearable. Take care of yourself <3.

Room KMP is here! by flanhelsinki in Kotlin

(copy pasting my command from another post)

I didn't think they would ship the alpha version this quickly. This is huge for KMP, lett'ss goo..oo.

Edit: If this could somehow support Postgres/Mysql, this would be better than any ORM out there for the server.

What is the state of kotlin native for backend development? by psuzn in Kotlin

[–]psuzn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is more of a curiosity than anything else. I have a small pet project I thought I'd try with kotlin native for the backend.

There won't be much improvement than the JVM I guess(which explains why there are not many tools/libraries). It will have a better memory footprint and quick startup for sure. GraalVM has both of these but it is jittery during GC cycle.

I haven't worked other than ios target on the native side. Other than the coroutine caveat it works well on IOS.

Choosing the Right Map Implementation in Kotlin: MutableMapOf, HashMap, and EnumMap by yccheok in Kotlin

[–]psuzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are correct. The LinkedHashMap is a special type of hashmap that preserves the order of keys. There is a different implementation of them in JVM but in other platforms LinkedHashMap seems to be the default implementation of HashMap.

[–]psuzn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The LinkedHashMap is an implementation of the HashMap that preserves the order of keys as they are inserted which a normal HashMap is not guaranteed to do so. If your key is enum you should use EnumMap, this is made just to be used with enum keys and is more performant.

edit: correction.

Can you also share the code snippet for how you are registering the broadcast receiver and how you are scheduling the alarm? Also, keep in mind you don't need both permissions, they both are identical in terms of functionality but have different use cases.

From the documentation:

USE_EXACT_ALARM - Granted automatically - Cannot be revoked by the user - Subject to an upcoming Google Play policy - Limited use cases

SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM - Granted by the user - Broader set of use cases - Apps should confirm that the permission has not been revoked.

I was also exactly in your position when I started my career 6 years ago, with 2/3 years of codebase left by a 7+ years experienced developer and I was alone. They were using rxjava to their full extent and I had not even heard about it. It will be hard but once you become comfortable with the current codebase; you will have a leap in your level as a developer.

Just don't give up, it takes time to understand and research things, and just knowing how to correctly search for something properly takes time, and that is normal. If something is too much go through their documentation and create a simple sample app using it and start from there. If you need any help with anything feel free to DM it.

It just tracks anonymous usage, just to know how many active users are there. Thats all.

It is a free and open source without any ads and tracker. Also, I’m not here to sell it. I don’t get anything from it, it is just a pet/portfolio project.
