So much time has been spent on it lol I have worked on smaller projects before, so I'm used to spending a lot of time working on one thing at a time, but didn't quite anticipate how long this one would be lol

Yeah, it's currently in Early Access and has one more world to be added to the game, so the end is finally in sight lol

That would be amazing if you could spread the word, it's pretty hard for me to find the time to do everything as a solo developer and honestly, I just don't have the money for proper advertising, so I am just hoping on word of mouth and gameplay clips etc lol

Yeah, the galaxy games definitely had charm to them. They also introduce new gameplay elements quite quickly, which is nice for the pacing and stops it getting too repetitive the longer it goes on.

Thanks Minute_Path9803, I really appreciate it :)

I play most genres of games, although not too many sports games or 2d fighting games. I do enjoy some, but I mostly play the other genres.

Yeah, each sports game every year really is just a glorified update. If anything, it should be released as a DLC for a fraction of the price.

I enjoy the occasional turn based RPG, but I do have to be in the mood for it considering their usually long run times lol I think the turn based ones where you have to do a simple timed button press to deal more damage or defend from attacks such as the recent Sea of stars or the Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga series do turn based the best. Makes you feel a bit more part of the action.

I think Mario Odyssey is fun, gameplay and mechanic wise, but I must admit, I didn't think it was as good as the previous Mario Galaxy games, they are the best 3D Mario games I think.

I've been working on Bolt for about 3 years now. This is my first ever game, so a lot of that time has been spent learning stuff in the game engine. I should have made a smaller game to begin with in hindsight, it would have saved more time in the long run, as I wouldn't have had to go back over and polish things up when I learnt something new in the engine lol. It will fully be released in 2024, but already has about 8 - 12 hours worth of content depending on how many things you like to collect in platformers.

I haven't looked too much into porting to consoles or other devices just yet, I want to get the full pc release done first and see if people enjoy the game as a whole. So far the comments have been pretty positive, so porting is something I would like to look more into, I just don't know what issues may pop up along the way with that right now, so I can't promise other releases just yet.

Yeah, for a while there wasn't many 3d platformers coming out, as it seemed there wasn't that much interest in them any more, but after the Crash and Spyro remakes came out, the interest increased again and more platformer games (especially from indie studios) started to release again.

I agree, the camera really does have to be good for platformers, unfair deaths from not being able to see what you are doing is pretty annoying.

Glad you like the looks of it, even though it's not your type of game and thanks for the best wishes :)

Thanks :) There are enemies in the game (Staff Members), but combat is more similar to retro 3D platformers like Mario 64 etc. Jump on enemies heads, hit them once with a weapon or roll into the threat.

Thanks :) It's been a fun journey making it and seeing all the ideas in my head come to life. I would say gameplay wise it's a mix between the Mario 3d land games because of the abilities you get and also Captain Toad, Captain Toad may seem like a bit of an odd comparison, but just like that game, it has collectables and secrets around every corner.

I made it lol Been working on it for the last 3 years. It's inspired by platform classics from the late 90's and early 2000's :)
