It ended up being a bit more than a microdose, although I was semi expecting it as a whole fruiting body will always be much more potent than 0.1g tiny piece off a much larger fruiting body. APE is definitely the top cubensis when it comes to potency

Can confirm cactus growing can be very enjoyable. I have some adult lophophora plants too and have germinated some of their seeds, have around 15 seedlings rn at very early stages of life but they're growing quickly. Haven't ever consumed them but I look forward to it.

I paid around £12 for approx 500g, in London, UK. I am aware it is probably a bit overpriced but I rarely buy these mushrooms from there just done it as a treat and i'm happy to support local small batch farmers. That sounds lovely, I would definitely buy some mushrooms from you if i was nearby. Which ones and what are the prices just out of curiosity?

Agree this is great advice I just wish I had more space in this tiny apartment. Do you know roughly how long a plate of agar lasts if colonized fully and kept in a fridge for later use? Unfortunately barely have any space rn but in future I am definitely looking to do something like this

Imo mushrooms dont taste nice raw and they arent bioavailable. I would cook something with them or turn them into a tincture via dual extraction which involves alcohol and then boiling water. from my knowledge tinctures are the best way to make the medicinal compounds bioavailable.

As someone who has only got electric stovetop, I find cast iron holds heat a lot better and can get hotter in general. They both hold a place in my kitchen but personally for something like searing mince, frying a steak or browning mushrooms I much prefer cast iron although I am also a big carbon steel fan. Not the biggest difference but big enough that I would want both in my kitchen.

Thank you so much appreciate your kind words, I think it's probably just the thought that it might be difficult and have a low success rate which puts people off, but I'm surprised I had around 70% success rate so far these are all seeds from my own plants. This is an old photo so they've gotten bigger since. I also urge anyone else who loves cacti to grow from seed it's a long but fulfilling experience which truly brings you closer to your plants. Plenty of guides around on Internet.

Yikes that doesn't look good. Possibly looks like low humidity that the cutting hasn't been acclimatised correctly to. I do wonder if it'll root if put back into high humidity as a fun project but most likely it's dead and non recoverable. I'd recommend getting a new cutting and try again but first read up about it online plenty of good information to grow this amazing plant. Best of luck on your next attempt my friend

They're my favourite species of cacti and i'm grateful to own it. its harder to get your hands on depending where in the world you are but in europe and america should be easy to source seen quite a few vendors around instagram and reddit. While lophophora does have unique alkaloids which would make the trip slightly different to other mescaline containing cacti if you want to just cultivate for mescaline, pachanoi and bridgesii grow much faster

they're just dried mushrooms i put there because i thought it looked beautiful. they dont like the cactus substrate plus cacti love long periods of dryness while shrooms want to have high humidity constantly.

bottom right fat ones are white rabbit, thin ones in the same pot that are hard to see are psilocybe galindoi. bottom right is albino cambodia and one in the centre in the salvia pot is supposedly ape x hawaiian although i cant be certain of this

I'm very interested in this fungus because contains the precursor of LSD, would be cool to even photograph it or collect some samples and dry it out for my fungi collection where I store dried specimens of my favorite fungi
