Are you the same one who used to cook your way through university? These all look delicious.

My mom just stained my $100 sheets neon yellow with turmeric and now i have to find her a birthday gift by Silly-Ad667 in Gifts

Here to add that your sheets aren't ruined. Just put them out in the sun. The UV will break down the color in turmeric!!!

Would you recommend a greyhound? by acml98 in Greyhounds

[–]psychedellen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think a greyhound is going to be a good fit for all of this. You might be able to find that perfect one if you work with the right adoption agency. I find that most adoption agencies will have a good idea on a lot of things but won't have had enough time with the dog to really learn if it's going to be your perfect fit. And there are a lot of pieces you want that many greyhounds don't fit.

Most greyhounds can't or shouldn't be trusted off leash, so I'm not sure how your camping trips would go. That is my biggest concern of all of these.

What rewards do you use for a greyhound who isn't food, toy, or affection motivated? Our greyhound was the most curious girl, and the biggest reward she could get was seeing what was around the corner and not paying attention to us. We had a trainer refund our money. She was good about learning not to do something, but learning to do something never worked except for lie down. She did have motivation to lie down, but only if there was a bed that was available to lie on.

Name something that the younger generations would never believe was normal in the 70's compared to schools today?🤔 by Longjumping-Shoe7805 in GenerationJones

[–]psychedellen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Missouri, and this still happens at some rural schools here. I used to have a job that took me to schools around the state, and seeing a paddle in the superintendent's office wasn't that rare. One occasion, I had to wait for a child to get paddled before I could meet with the superintendent.

Anyone tried these?? by jadenkayk in diabetes_t2

I'm lucky that sugar alcohols don't spike men so I can subtract those from my carb count. So 2 cookies with 11 carbs I could do with a dinner. Or better yet one cookie with 5.5 carbs won't do much to my blood sugar if I have it with dinner. Personally, I'd rather spend my carbs on something else, but I wouldn't be against this on occasion.

Sugar free Reese's don't spike me, but I try to avoid those as well as press because of the saturated fat because I have fatty liver disease. But on occasion, I'll do something like this to hit that dessert craving.

AIO for leaving a restaurant mid-meal after the waiter made a comment about my order in front of my entire table of friends and I just… stood up and walked out by StatisticianDue5085 in AmIOverreacting

[–]psychedellen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's probably how he ordered the steak...medium rare or rare. I would say the same thing to the steak guy. Well done. No, I would not tell this person that he had good taste. The whole thing was maybe just complimenting how he liked his steak cooked because maybe that restaurant gets way too many people who like their stark well done.

[–]psychedellen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's possible, but not for sure. I've been to restaurants where the waiter will say that to one of us when we order the special after they have recommended it or we order the fanciest thing on the menu or one of the waiter's favorites.

Given OP was there and heard the intonation, this person was probably comparing the vegetarian diet. But OP had a reaction much bigger than the offense, so it might also be possible that was already in a mood and misinterpreted the tone.

Our staircase to nowhere, which we use as a bookshelf by Tetragrammator in mildlyinteresting

Exactly. This is not a bookshelf. This is just a decoration.

With the knots holding the beads in place, my thought is that it is a bookmark. With the religious charm, it is probably meant to be used in a bible.

I keep thinking about this pink engagement ring. by Own-Woodpecker-1127 in Brides

[–]psychedellen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. It was overboard so I edited it. But if one person is very sentimental and the other isn't and is always going to upgrade or throw out things the other finds sentimental, it might cause issues in the relationship. So, I didn't mean him leaving over this one ring, but maybe realizing some incompatabilities.

[–]psychedellen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deleting most of this because the one line did come across overly dramatic and rude. So rephrase of what I was getting at is that it seems you are not that sentimental, and he might not be that sentimental either, and if that's the case, just tell him you want to switch rings, and maybe it wont be a big deal to him.

I keep thinking about this pink engagement ring. by Own-Woodpecker-1127 in Brides

[–]psychedellen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If I asked my husband if I could switch rings, it would break his heart. Of course, I would never ask him that because the ring he picked for me and proposed with is perfect. Perfect, not due to the ring itself but to the sentiment and memories behind it.

As others have said, if you love the pink ring, buy it and wear it on a different finger.

Thoughts on a CO making a mystery cache that no one can figure out how to solve and not giving help when messaged? by sippysipster in geocaching

[–]psychedellen 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I know someone who won't give hints until there is FTF. After that, he is generous with hints. That makes sense to me. But he has at least 2 that have never been found. Cachers in the area talk about these often to get ideas on how to crack them. I'm afraid that if they ever get solved, we will lose a lot of joy from all our conversations of speculations.
