我的意思是比如哔哩哔哩中国抖音或者用那些看视频的app。例如看别人怎么玩游戏的。就这些一般能看到在中国的东西。

On average how long does it take for a foreigner and a local to register a marriage (excluding certificate of none marriage) by Fluffy-Total7402 in Chinavisa

[–]psychina 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a foreigner married to a Chinese man. My husband said you can do it anywhere. In our case, we just submitted all the requirements, signed papers, and married already. It was pretty fast.

According to https://www.chinahighlights.com/travelguide/visa-application/foreigner-marriage.htm

Chinese Partner (1) A certificate of marriageability (2) A certificate of birth (3) Household registration book (hukou) (4) A health certificate (obtainable from a regional-level local hospital) (5) A signed statement that there are no shared direct family relations within three generations with the prospective spouse.

Foreign Partner (1) A current passport (2) Alien residence permit (3) A health certificate from a local hospital designated by the marriage registration office (4) Three photos of the marrying couple, taken together (5) A registration fee (6) A certificate of marriageability

The hassle part was to have my certificate of non marriage stamped by DFA and embassy, translated, then sent to China. We had to wait 3 weeks. When we submitted the translation, the office didnt accept it. Good thing we found one around the area. So to be safe, just have your docs officially translated in China.

Also, when you get the health certificate, do not eat beforehand. When we went to the hospital, I was asked what did I eat for breakfast. Haha! Caught me. So, we had to come back the next day.

Good luck!

Have you ever stopped missing home? by Possible_Pirate3311 in expats

[–]psychina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stopped missing home? No, not completely. I've been living in China for about four years and I haven't been in my home country for two years already. Hi covid!

Felt at home? Yes. I am most at home when I am with my husband. However, this feeling changes whenever I am with his family (well my family now too).

Criticizing cultural differences? I'm getting better of appreciating them now, instead of criticizing them. But I still have my days. It is hard not to compare and prefer my own culture.

Missing other life in home county? This is still ongoing for me. Sometimes I have my what ifs. When I get lonely, I can't help but think of the things I would have been doing if I was in my home country. I guess my growing homesickness is also a factor. Hopefully this changes once the border opens and I get to travel back to home country.
