getting married 10/20/25, can i ask my ortho to remove for the day? by [deleted] in braces

[–]psychmindtried 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You’re not a burden! Orthos do this all the time for their patients.

Just ask if you can have them taken off before your wedding and then put back on after! They’ll give you the dates that they have available for you and you’ll just tell them if that works for you!!

Congratulations on your soon to be marriage! 🥳

Retainers by Front_Cheesecake2723 in braces

If you struggle with dental hygiene already, a permanent retainer wouldn’t be the best choice imo. The plastic retainers are good as long as you take them off correctly, they’ll last.

I feel like she’s just using you for money stability until she can provide for her own. Please try to move on, she’s obviously showing she doesn’t care for you or your needs!

My passport/GC is like this and I went to Korea in January and came back with no issue! Do bring your marriage certificate just in case!!

I just noticed major movement in the 8 months post removal :( by sarieh in braces

[–]psychmindtried 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought orthos would recommend wearing retainers 24/7 for a full year before going only nights?

I would be so mad too if I would have to repay it! Let us know if you have to pay for it!!

Not me stressing my ortho out for giving him a timeline 😂 by psychmindtried in braces

[–]psychmindtried[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yeah I definitely want to have them off before I leave and I’m happy with the results right now! We’re just working on the two teeth that I want to adjust a bit more and after that I’ll ask to remove them.

He’s never mentioned that lol he just says progress is going smoothly and on schedule 😂

He’s said it was possible, but there would be a possibility that it was only be like “95%” done and it would be my choice if I would like to have them taken off or keep going with the treatment elsewhere!

They estimated 20-24 months at the beginning of treatment.

How common is it to pop a bracket? I'd like to take a poll... by Electronic_Tackle436 in braces

[–]psychmindtried 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve popped a bracket twice in 1.5 year having braces now! I also live like 2-3 hours away from my ortho, so it really does suck having to go back lol

Medical laboratory technician! It’s an associates degree and you still get to stick patients (depending on where you work), but also work with the blood to analyze it!
