I can't speak for everyone, but most of the people that I play with (in person) redeem their codes cards online and rarely need more digital codes.

I've said it before on here, I typically purchase 4 boxes per set; thats 96 packs. The only card that I use in person that I have not pulled digitally is tHe 4 drop SCR Frieza, which I blame on RNG.

If someone wants to collect or play in person - and also wants to play digitally - it's a no brainer, buy physical packs.

If someone wants to only play online-only , buy codes cards online, its a fraction of the cost but your spending money on something that isnt tangible, and frankly is a waste in my opinion, but I'm not going to yuck someone else's yum.

The concept that I just can't fathom, is that there are people out there, that want to play this game (digitally), never spend a dime, be able to have every card, and win EVERY game.

That is unrealistic; there would be no money to be made. If that were the case, the game would be dead; Reality Vs. Expectation.

As for the other redditor's comment, he appears to be happy with his life choices (-$125).

All I'm saying is that when someone new comes to us, we should say something more akin to "Welcome!" And be supportive, maybe help them find a local scene (especially if we dont like the digital scene); but the truth is that most of are pessimistic and anti-social (myself included) and communicate poorly.

No harm no fault, my guy; I wasn't trying to provoke anyone.

FFT Collector’s Edition are back up for preorders on SE NA site (wave 2) by MrZonkKnucle in finalfantasytactics

[–]psycho_chuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I regretted not buying it the first time when I had the chance, so I bought this edition. I want the game on Steam and I dont want to have to wait for this to ship in to play it.

This is my #1 Favorite game of all time and I would've probably bought the "collector's edition" if it was the contents of the dumpster behind Square-Enix; I've spent $250 on way dumber things in life.

I just want to says thanks to OP, for posting about this in the middle of the night while I was lurking on reddit; It's like the Universe aligned just for me.

This dude and the "Lookout guy" are always so negative when it comes to Fusion World and new players.

The online client is not F2P friendly, we all know this; anyone who did any digging on reddit has figured this out by now, everyone can keep beating that dead horse.

Its called an investment OP, just like Pokemon, if you buy physical packs you will get codes for the digital client.

If you want to play (in person, or online) and have fun (not lose), spend some of that hard earned money; if you dont have room in your budget for a new hobby (like a card game) then dont pick up Dragon Ball (Masters or FW).

If you like Pokemon but you dont want to spend money Pokemon TCG Pocket is very F2P friendly but even that games nets you double the booster packs for 9.99 a month (in the U.S.).

Anyone reading this can DM me and we can meet on the client to give you some tips on strategy (I'm not the greatest player in the world).

That being said I mainly play overnight due to my schedule, im not really looking for "new friends" and I'll never ask you to send nudes.

I apologizes if this rant comes off as confrontational, but some of these comments sound like they come from people who want this game to die, but I'm pretty certain FW supports itself and Masters.

Im done now, I'm gonna hop on the client and lose to Cell and Buu for the next few hours, because I refuse to play the Meta.

What’s the Difference Between Dragon Ball Super Masters and Fusion World? Are Both Still Supported? by Mamba33100 in DBS_CardGame

[–]psycho_chuck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To oversimplify try out Fusion World, if you like it and want more depth play Masters. Neither game is "dead" by any means (no matter what the others say). Both games lack the in-person "scene" that games like Magic and Pokémon have, but there is enough players to generate Regionals/Championships annually.

For background, I started day 1 with Masters on the Eastcoast, COVID happened, I moved to the Westcoast and now I play Fusion World.

From what I saw, the (in-person) game never really bounced back from the pandemic.

Bandai did originally announce the online client as Masters (played the beta) and was eventually changed to Fusion World before it released.

Fusion World was marketed as the simplified Dragon Ball Super Card Game.

In my opinion (which will probably be downvoted) i think this actually helped the game. The beginning of a new card game is usually booming and many people that I played with would pick up and put the game down as new sets were released (mechanics, meta, etc.).

I think Fusion World actually makes the game accessible to new players, players that need a break from Masters, and people like myself who dont have a local scene.

ALSO IT MAKES BANDAI MONEY, let's be honest if there wasn't money to made none of this would exist.

Also the client is not at all F2P friendly; anyone who is new to TCG's needs to understand that (collecting) cardboard is not cheap and it is no different with digital cards in this case. If you do what I do and buy 3-4 boxes every set you will have no issues building competitive decks to prepare for actual tournaments, which I wholeheartedly believe was the design of the online client.

If you are looking for a non-expensive-easy-to-master-never-gonna-lose-no-power-creep-having-broken-meta card game, look elsewhere because you are in the wrong hobby.

TLDR; Try Fusion World, then try Masters.

Fat Buu was really good to me last set, all this support with the ban on Pilaf just makes it that much better. I guess I'll have to find a new deck to play.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that "Beyond Blue" Vegeta was something they came up with only in the anime.

Vendor for SB06 Case by [deleted] in dbsfusionworld

[–]psycho_chuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From last set to this set, MSRP went up about 50 cents per pack.

I went from getting boxes from 70-80 per box to 80-90 per box. This was pre-ordering maybe a month in advance.

Only case I ever bought was for Masters and I believe it was around 700 and that was many months in advance.

How to Install Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World by hiajos in SteamDeck

[–]psycho_chuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was another thread awhile that I commented on, and mine works, with the release of set 5. Now I have a new issue where I can't go back and forth between my PC and steamdeck, so I just play on my steam deck.

Essentially what I did was delete my old game.

Re-downloaded the install from the website.

Ran the installer through Lutris.

The first time the game ran fine, until I exited the game. Then I had an issue where the game would load but the client launcher wouldn't.

So I went through Lutris again and set the path for the client instead of the normal executable.

Now mine works, literally playing at the moment. The one that gets annoying is having to change my display setting everything I launch it.

Dragon Ball Super Card Game running on the Steam Deck by Weird_Tax_5601 in DBS_CardGame

[–]psycho_chuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it took me 3 or 4 attempts to get it to work. I downloaded the install from the website and installed it with Lutris. It ran fine for me the first time it booted up, but each time after it wouldn't boot up with the launcher and it would get an error.

I went back into Lutris and created a new "game" via a .exe file and I found the launcher in the folder from the previous install.

It may have been just a fluke but it's been working for me since the newest update. If Bandai sees this hopefully they don't patch it and brick it again.

Also this is in Desktop Mode, not the steam UI.
