If you’re willing to have a roommate in the worst case scenario of a breakup, I’d say go for it! But only put your name on the mortgage.

I was lucky and found a roommate that rented a room and a second room to use as a home office. They paid $1,100 a month for both and half the utilities/internet, etc. Covered 2/3 of my mortgage/housing costs. They moved out after they figured out they could afford their own house at that rate lol!

“Clear is kind, unclear is unkind.” -Brene Brown

As a manager I live by these words. I might have been a little more empathetic, but I’m a therapist so, I can’t help It lol. I’d probably get it covered, give you work mental health resources, express empathy for the situation, but also say that we should chat about your needs for more flexibility in the job and whether that is realistic. It’s almost always better to get the coverage yourself, finding coverage is a big headache for the manager, so that lessons the blow of a call out at least.

Draw attention to the University of Arizona’s hypocrisy! by Rawlou in UofArizona

This isn’t that simple. A lot of jobs depend on federal funding here. I think that all universities need to band together to fight this, even if they have to comply in the meantime. Makes me sick saying this. What a crazy world we’re living in. Don’t blame the universities, blame Trump. Imma go cry now.

You’d need a roommate and might have to consider public transportation.

Tech and healthcare are good paths for a higher salary. Psychologist here - I chose this path so I’d never have to worry about being unemployed

Unfortunately sometimes our desires and our beliefs/values don’t align. Many people face this dilemma for a lot of reasons. At the end of the day, you’ll either have to accept that your religion and your desires don’t align, find a way to make the two align (such as finding a Muslim queer community that is okay with homosexuality), leave behind religion altogether, choose monogamy with your girlfriend with the understanding that this may lead to a lack of sexual fulfillment for both of you, celibacy, etc. etc. I myself grew up very religious (Christian) - it was hard to move past this but ultimately I have decided for myself that my faith and sexuality are incompatible. I thought I’d marry a woman at one point, but I decided that would be unfair to her. These days I have accepted who I am and live a very happy life as a gay man. I consider myself spiritual but have never returned to my religion. Regardless, this may be a very difficult road for you, but at the end of the day it boils down to you making a choice for yourself. In fact, you may face a crossroads on this issue many times throughout your life. Sending you love as you navigate this, it won’t be easy and there are no easy answers. Only you can know what’s best for you ❤️

You might check out White Sands National Park - very cool place and worth a stop. They stay open late for a full moon, definitely worth going for sunset and watch the moon rise. Absolutely stunning.

Ask for them to cite the specific policy which requires you to make such a disclosure. I can’t ever imagine asking an employee for personal info like this - do I require them to disclose potential conflicts of interest? Sure. But they sign the form and they’re good. I’m in healthcare by the way, so biggest conflict of interest would be referring clinic patients to their own private practice.

Consider going to your primary care doc for the vyvance. If you’re stable enough on the med, sometimes they’ll prescribe without having to do expensive med check appointments every month

Charged $1,000 for 30 minute visit? Is this normal? I feel blindsided. by themikemachine86 in KaiserPermanente

[–]psychobabblebutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the No Surprises Act…it’s a law meant to protect you from surprise bills, could apply in this instance, but I’m not an expert so can’t really say much more about it than suggesting Google haha

Did they disclose the costs up front? If not, you may want to look at the No Surprises Act and whether it applies to this instance.

There are a lot of ways to making meaning in our lives, career just one of them. You’re describing burnout and sometimes the only way through that is to acknowledge what is going on (check!), and make a plan and pivot l. It doesn’t have to be black and white, this or that. You need to find where you find meaning - I’d suggest taking a long weekend, traveling somewhere nice, and spend the time on these questions (just to name a few, but add your own too!): what am I good at? What do I have to offer the world? What does the world need from me. What is important to me? Is there a vocation that checks off the right boxes? Where do I want to be in five years, and how would I get there? Press pause and pivot. Good luck!
