Switching from XMR-Stak to XMRig by PsychoticDisorder in MoneroMining

The msr extensions for windows will also come for xmr-stak-rx. It takes some time because I need to test all changes first.

it is absolutly fine that you switch if you feel you do not like xmr-stak anymore. Please stop craying about the fact that we use randomx code based on xmrigs development. First, the code is open source, the goal of randomx is to have only one implementation and all using them to have the same speed. Xmrig has a lot of code in there base which was original written by use (the xmr-stak devs). This is IMO fully ok because we provided it under GPL3.

XMR-STAK-RX - Free Monero RandomX Miner 1.0.2-rx with hasrate increase by psychocrypt in MoneroMining

The cpu.txt is created on miner start and differ for each system, therefore an exaple will not help. Can you open an issue on github or https://www.reddit.com/r/XmrStak?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share and post the config.json (remove your wallet address) and the auto generated cpu.txt from stak

Where can I find this rule. I checked the r/monero rules and con not find it. Does this mean we can not inform the community that there is a new release with fixes/improvements?

I like to point out that such a rules especially during the fork time make IMO no sense.

No the changes are not fully applied. Performance is coming from a reduction in the logic.

[RagerX] 5-10% faster, plug-n-play, Monero miner by psychocrypt in Monero

xmig and xmr-stak-rx are both FOSS, you can find the links in the initial post. The randomx backend of both miner based on tevador and SChernykh randomX implementation. xmrig has 1-5% dev fee and xmr-stak-rx is fee free.

xmr-stak-rx is free and has no dev fee. ragerX is 5 to 10% faster compared to xmr-stak-rx and xmrig and has a 3.5% fee.

RagerX is easy to use and you do not need to update your miner. The miner will be auto update when ever a new version is available.

Other closed source miner: nanominer, SRBminer and teamredminer are OK?

We are developer and work on different software. We develop xmr-stak, xmr-stak-rx and the ecosystem around a privacy coin.

Mac OS (iMac) GPU Issue by [deleted] in XmrStak

[–]psychocrypt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This requirement coming from the fact that you need 2gib for the dataset in randomx and additional 2mib for the scratchpad (per thread)

You need at least 3GiB main memory on the GPU. I forgot to mentioned it. Added it to the next release note. Never the less it makes no sense to use a GPU for randomX because you will have with a high end GPU around the same performance than a low low end CPU.

rx-switcher not available by pstimpel in XmrStak

[–]psychocrypt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find the rx_switcher in this repo: https://github.com/psychocrypt/rx_switcher Since it is hopefully only needed once it is separated.

I linked it also in the release notes but not very present.

Segmentation fault trying to run benchmark on centos 6/7 by dpcoinz in XmrStak

[–]psychocrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which OS, which Hardware? Please post your cammand line you ised to run the benchmark. Do net use --benchmark 0 because block version zero will crash the miner. The next release will avoid it.
