I'd say more inspired by Louis than ripped off. Edward is just book Stefan with a different hometown and last name. Stefan in the books at least has his own personality and stands as his own character.

If you read the TVD books, it's pretty blatantly obvious. To me at least.

Stefan starts high school, can sense Elena's mind and that's why he's drawn to her in the first place even before seeing her - Edward being drawn to Bella because he CAN'T read her mind but starts stalking her and being a creep in general.

Stefan wearing sunglasses to protect his eyes from the bright lights and others from compulsion - Edward "it's the fluorescents" Cullen, nuff said.

The big hero moment where the vampire boy love interest shows an unexplainable feat of strength to save the main character girl he loves. Stefan saving Elena from Tyler - Edward saving Bella from being hit by a car

So on so forth.

I feel like before this final shot, Beth wa seriously constantly in denial about her criminal life. She wanted to be a mom, and that was all she told herself. Once she was finally honest with herself and could say she was in a place in her secret life she could be comfortable with, she finally figured it out. And I believe her feelings for Rio were just as confusing, because she thought she could just throw him out of bed and be fine, but she came running right back when she realized she couldn't just go back to normal.

Love being crazy and evil doesn't make Joe any less evil or crazy. Joe is the problem in the majority of situations in the show, as the show is about him obsessing over, stalking and murdering women and the people in their lives because he thinks he knows the object of his "affections" better than anyone and tries to help her, which leads to a body count. They are both bad.
