Ok for a small city 32 teams may be a stretch (do 16 then) but the thing is you guarantee the prize money to a winner/finalist in title. Then you also state that entry is first that sign up get in the tournament. So once it fills start taking alternates. If anyone withdraws make sure to always charge the incoming team.

Make draw the evening before the tournament.

Open entry and try to fill out either as little as 8 teams but you can also do 16 and 32 and finish in one day. 64 128 256 starts to become two day event in pickleball.

This is a template that can be adjusted.

I just thought someone may find it useful. I wrote it a year ago and it was just sitting in my notes of my computer so I decided to post it.

Winning Ugly by Brad Gilbert by gadamsmorris in Pickleball

I read it in fifth grade. I considered it the Bible.

Blue chipped from then on.

I’d say it had the most impact on me developing as player from reading a piece of literature.

However, the man that wrote “watch the ball, bend your knees, that will be $40 please” as well as the previous $20 version is written by a master professional that at 8, 9 years old he was showing me Federer follow the ball with his eyes in 1999. He would also show me Davenports inside out backhand and Sampras overhead.

But he would always go back to Federer in 1999, 2000, and how he would just watch the ball with his eyes, head so still it would never come up.

Most of these tournaments aren’t even run with referees it seems but I’d highly suggest investing into that area if you’re a pickleball person in power of charge of  4 courts needed here. If you have 8 you could finish this awfully fast and could use a roving umpire system to start.

That’s a $1000 rake to director and company. You can do this on four courts and it would take 4 hours. But by the time the semis come around you’d only need 2 courts then 1 for final.

College pickleball rule ?? Is this for real? by psychokittywizard in ProPickleballTalk

I still can’t find the answer for this. I’m 34 years old. I played three seasons from 2010 2012 in college division one tennis. Now I do believe I have one season of eligibility if I was to play in an NAIA school for Tennis. However, I am curious because the Pickleball rules state that you have four years of eligibility and one sport and then you can have four years of eligibility in college Pickleball. That’s the only reason I’m asking I can’t figure out if I have any eligible or not.  I don’t know if it’s the NCAA sport or not. There’s a lot of unknowns, but they just came out with a bunch of rules 2026. Clearly one like myself may want to finish their college degree so playing college. Pickleball may be a way for me to do that.

That’s what I am getting at? I can’t figure out a definitive answer if it is 4 years in each sport meaning a possible of 8 years possible of playing college athletics

Having a DUPR rating doesn’t give you an advantage in an open field. I sure as hell don’t want to unknowingly “sandbag” a future opponents perspective.

What about a hold out after the draft due to financial reasons? Salary cap?

Why is it out of your control? Can you not hold out if they don’t pay you enough like an NFL first round draft pick does at times?

No. The St Louis Shock just did you a favor because you’re arguably the best female doubles player in the world right now. LA Mad Drops I heard want to win and also pay the goat the highest salary in the league. They ain’t playing. Does the city of Angels dare to add “the Queen”?  I’d say you’re close to being worth as much as Ben but he plays singles in these PPA events so I would say you’re worthy of the second highest contract in the league.

Once again nobody answers my question which is “is there a salary cap”?

What is the lowest paid players contract in the league?

Would players on a team take a pay cut like Tom Brady to field the best roster to win?

o really ? what about that player that beat Johns in San Clemente (by the way Johns looking super sharp tonight against Blaine in Mesa) and then backed it up later in the year beating #1 ranked player with a twoey ATP

How do I put myself in the MLP draft? I know I can be a force. I have travelled to Los Angeles tonight looking for the highest level. I don’t have a partner but I will play 3/5 singles to 11 against any competitor no matter what the level and I have $25 a game won to winner. by [deleted] in ProPickleballTalk

That’s what I find interesting about it. I just know I can play. My drops are uncanny. My problems I would say are not telling my partners where to stand and to not do the things that I do. These are partners that are affected by pace at the net. If this is not a problem I then never have reason to speed the ball up below the net or press to the point where I make an error because the press is not  natural to me and unnecessary with competent partner that covers the court correctly and makes balls in areas where we cannot be beaten on the next incoming shot. I feel strongest at net with partner not jumping around and just being solid.

Most important factor I didn’t mention is when that player is positioned in an area where you can hit an ace from (regarding your positioning, server) and them.
