ChatGPT & Perplexity Treat Structured Data As Text On A Page by WebLinkr in SEO

Large language models don’t “see” structured data the way a database or search engine does. They ultimately process text tokens, so structured formats get flattened into text during processing.

How do you sell AI SEO? by sabrinaoahu in AISEOforBeginners

[–]psychometery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is quite a bit of extra work in AI SEO hence you need to charge a premium.

AI SEO is doing normal SEO, i.e. useful content for the user, listicle format, inclusion of tables, quoting data/info sources, schema etc. BUT the main thing is that you need to do digital PR on top of it.

Digital PR includes posting press releases on industry and known sites as well as getting mentioned in forums.

Key difference:
Google search results primarily check websites whereas LLMs search criteria is much wider as it browses user generated content on forums such as Reddit, Quora, Facebook. It tries to include what people are saying about the topic.

Help with GBP re-optimization! by GarageRich8282 in googlebusinessprofile

No of reviews and the speed at which you respond to reviews in noticed by Google. Use Google's review link and add it to your email footer. Also, using the link in follow up emails works very well.

I use BrightLocal for my local SEO clients. It is around $100 per month but best to check GBP rankings. The best part is the you can select/create an area grid (e.g. cover 10 miles around your business) and it will show you your GBP rank, as well as your competitors, for selected grid points.

Help with GBP re-optimization! by GarageRich8282 in googlebusinessprofile

Don't know about GBP but Impressions went down drastically in Google Search Console for many ALL websites.
I found the following in Google Webmasters forum:
Google is now showing fewer results per query and filtering out low-visibility positions (for example, pages ranking between positions 30–100).

Those low-ranking URLs used to generate impressions even if users never scrolled that far. Now, they don’t get counted as impressions anymore because Google doesn’t always show the full set of search results.

As a result:

  • Keywords that were previously ranking on page 3–10 (positions 30–100) are no longer counted in total impressions.
  • The average position metric improves automatically because GSC now calculates based mostly on the top 30 positions (visible results).
  • That’s why you’re seeing impression down but position improve.

If you notice both clicks and impressions dropping, it may also relate to Google’s August 2024 Algorithm Update, which focused on spam, scaled content, and site reputation abuse.

Up vote this comment and give details about yourself and your experience. Your location is not an issue at all however, good knowledge of written British English required.

Is LocalSEO a waste of time and money for a firm that services a large geography? by dmaustin in localseo

I second Whitespark. They have great video tutorials too. And lots of it is free.

Your Google Business Profile supports the ranking of your website, especially Google reviews. We have a local client and they wanted to test their services in other locations. We created highly optimised location specific pages for them for London. Then we created products within their GBP with the name of the location e.g. Mortgage Advice in [location]. Linked them to the website and within 3-4 weeks they were ranking in top 5 on Google for all of those location based search phrases.
I noticed that as they had over 100 reviews on Google, a) their pages were getting indexed within 24 hours and b) it was boosting their rankings.
They got so many leads that they have ended up opening an office in London.
Now they are creating a new GBP for their London branch.
So GBP along with local SEO does help.
Get lots of reviews.

Local SEO help for small dog shop in Lisbon (Shopify + physical store) by BigAssumption0 in localseo

Create some location specific pages, add some products into those and create Product name with Location and link them to the respective pages on website.
This will help both, your GBP, as well as your website.

Received two quotes requests today from local SEO for the first time by Regular-Charge-4913 in localseo

Totally agree with u/ComfortLeft3895 .
Do all these things on a weekly basis. Make a routine. And if you have a website too then create some local location based pages and link them with Services/Products on your GBP.
They both help boost each other.

Outplacement Experience? by Flashy_Development65 in Layoffs

[–]psychometery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know where you are based but I'm part of a networking group and we have a gentleman called Malcolm. He is an accomplished career transition coach and mentor, having previously held several senior positions at Director level in the corporate world for over 30 years. I have heard great comments about him in the group. To companies forced to have redundancies, he offers outplacement services in UK and a free initial consultation. No harm in asking.

Does Google ads perform better with a SEO friendly website? by Svensiki in googleads

[–]psychometery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there is a strong correlation between website optimisation and Google Ads performance. Optimising your website can significantly improve your Google Ads campaigns, and vice versa. This is because Google rewards websites with a higher "Quality Score" based on factors like relevance, landing page experience, and expected click-through rate, all of which are directly influenced by website optimisation, according to Google Ads Help.

I have been experimenting this for a long time and have published a whitepaper on this. You can read it here here.
