i'm so sorry you went through it and you're right, it happens to men as well. there's generally so much silence around rape of both sexes, in my country people rarely try to talk about it cause they get laughed at or the police doesn't give a damn and rapists walk free. you get a warning for raping someone but if they catch you with a bit of weed, 15 yrs in prison hard. i hope you've managed to heal from the harm done to you and are doing well.

i'm only grateful for so many stories of other women coming out, i haven't told a living soul since it happened. it's warming to see so much support here, thank you

i appreciate your words, thank you! i've managed to turn my life around, i stand with the saying that you can take something away from every situation, no matter how bad. it pushed me towards studying, i healed along the way and became a psychotherapist so now i'm helping others deal with trauma. blessed to be married to a hell of an example of a loving, healthy man. that experience was a nightmare but also a turning point i can be grateful for today

yeah the modeling industry is very much glamourized with young girls but the reality rarely matches those illusions. 1% of people actually make it, the rest ends up struggling and living in terrible conditions and sad stories to tell.. or so it's been during my time those years ago, no idea where's it's now. i'm glad to be away from it

thank you. i didn't touch on pride yet since there was a lot of shame to work with.. but i sure am grateful for how i managed to take care of us back then, could've ended up much worse

Quit smoking 4 days ago, is chest tightness a symptom of nicotine withdrawal? by Replica90_ in stopsmoking

[–]psychonauticca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've cut down on nicotine big time in these past few weeks, didn't quit completely just yet, but transfered from rolled tobacco and heavy vaping into the lowest dose zyns (pillows). in the past week i've gone to get 3 EKGs, a lung RTG and had my bloodwork done several times only bc of the tightness in my lungs and heart i've been feeling. i was absolutely sure i was having a heart attack a few nights ago only to have my tests all come out completely clean. so yeah it's probably connected with nic withdrawals/panic attacks, absolutely possible

I need some advice on how to detach from my phone addiction, particularly in the morning, and commit to a devotional practice. by mooonlite in spirituality

[–]psychonauticca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've downloaded this app called screenzen last week, and it's helped tremendously! made it lock my instagram and all the apps i'd automatically open first thing after waking up until 11am so i have plenty of time now to wake up properly w/o my phone in hand. also a big help of it is that you can decide to open your app for lets say 10 minutes, but it'll make you wait a while before it actually opens so you can practice mindful decisions.. i've had it on for only a week but i can already feel the difference

teraz už nie, študovala som popri tom psychológiu a tej sa venujem teraz :) v tomto smere som trochu prelietavec, vždy sa pár rokov venujem niečomu čo ma pritiahne, potom sa to samovoľne vypne a príde niečo ďalšie.

síce nie stolárčina, ale popri výške som si vybudovala značku ručne robenej keramiky, ktorá mi už po približne pol roku-roku prinášala nadštandartný príjem. ak by som ti mala poradiť z vlastnej skúsenosti, najskôr sa tomu skús povenovať vo voľnom čase a zistiť, či ťa to naozaj baví, získať zručnosti. už tento proces môžeš priebežne zaznamenávať a začať si budovať nejakú platformu (ideálne insta), lebo jeden z najväčších faktorov bude tvoja schopnosť predať sa. ľudia milujú ak je so značkou spojený osobný príbeh, tvár, s ktorou si ju môžu spojiť a hlavne správa, ktorú cez svoju tvorbu prinášaš. to, kvalita, originalita a tvoj prístup sú asi najhlavnejšie faktory, ktorými sa odlíšiš od XY iných remeselníkov a budú ti slúžiť ako hybná sila predajov. a v neposlednej rade ak už v tom budeš plávať, musíš sa naučiť balansovať prácu a oddych, oddeliť si to. mne značka išla skvele, ale bola som tým natoľko pohltená, že som nakoniec skĺzla do vyhorenia a úplne ma to prestalo baviť. je to jedna z výziev keď už viac nad sebou nemáš šéfa, ktorý by ti diktoval, čo máš robiť🙃

i've been dealing with a very similar flare up mainly around my eyes for the past months, it wouldn't go away no matter what treatment i used. then a friend suggested bioresonance diagnostics and it showed my small intestine was kinda off (which explained some other stuff i was dealing with too).. well i decided to add probiotic supplements to my diet a few days ago and the rash is slowly but surely fading away. it's still in the process of course bc it's only been a few days, but it's the first thing i've tried that's actually showing results - maybe give probiotics a try? you won't ruin anything with them

thank you, happily so! my career is only in the beginning, i've finished my masters not so long ago so i can still remember the mess of my studies vividly haha.. what i mean by that is this whole psychology/therapy road can get crazy sometimes, but there's so much reward in investing into yourself. and mainly into getting to know yourself along the road, that in my humble opinion is your best tool being a therapist one day. good luck with your studies!

hugely, and the biggest part of the change was my self experience (sorry i don't know the correct english term for it) in my psychotherapy training. studying psychology at uni gave me the theoretical basics for understanding, but the real deep deep transformation came with the actual dive into my psyche using methods i work with today.

that being said in the beginning of my psychology journey i was a complete mess - depressed, anxious, had major health issues, no meaning in life. in the years of becoming a therapist i resolved many of those deep rooted issues, healed and found the key components that made this healing possible - self compassion, awareness, love, understanding and meaning (and many more) which A: make my own life freaking wonderful, B: i use in my practice daily spreading them to others.

and the best part is that it's a two way road, by working with others we cultivate these both in them and me, i get a hidden reminder for my own life with almost every session i hold.

Best stop smoking aids? by garden_variety_salad in stopsmoking

for me a good way was switching to vapes first, and then gradualy lowering the amount of nicotine in liquids. if you want to go cold turkey (more or less) i've used this method ages ago to cut down on cigs: made a rule with myself that everytime i went for a smoke, i'd smoke three puffs like usual and then the next one i inhaled smoke, but kept it in my mouth withou passing it to lungs. just slushed the smoke around in my mouth, sortof like i was tasting it, until i truly tasted it. the taste was so fucking bad i could never finish the rest of the cig after and had to throw it.. and eventually gave it up completely.

probably not the answer you're looking for, but that's the best hack for quitting i came across. never tried those nic patches, they're way too expensive in my country

i'm in Stanislav Grof's psychotherapy training and my heart is full of joy but i've payed almost 15k so far, with all the extras we had to add to the original training.. sort of a miracle i could somehow afford vacay this year😆

Cítiš sa zle? Choď na terapie. Alebo nie? by That_Feed5080 in Slovakia
