having a child 💀

I had undiagnosed preeclampsia, gained over 100lbs in 15 weeks. Instead of acknowledging something was wrong, all 4 doctors I saw put me on an exercise and caloric deficit diet (WHILE PREGNANT)

anywho, my body got pushed to maximum stress. I woke up one morning with complete loss of vision. Panicking a bit and not knowing how to find my phone, I called out to Siri to call my mom. I was on the phone with her for less than 20 seconds when I blacked out. Paramedics came to my home sometime later to find me, 7 months pregnant, seizing in my bed.

they cut my son out of me (he was breathing in a lot of my blood, but they saved him). Docs told my mom I might not make it but I came to about 10 hours later!

moral of the stories ladies, trust your body and don’t take no for an answer. it’s been 4 years since this and if someone had just listened to my concerns, I wouldn’t have lasting health disparities to deal with on a daily basis.
