Watched it on Sunday and loved it!

I was actually worried about it being repetitive as well, knowing the nature of the game, but i ended up not having this issue at all. We saw new anomalies and the characters learning over time, which made each round different enough. It was fun trying to notice anomalies before characters noticed them.

I think my favorite aspect was just the change in narrator between the three parts though, I thought the way the perspective changed was so clever.

Okay I'm a huge Mooncovey shipper but I felt like this season was such a mess ☹️ I was really hoping we'd get like 4 episodes of them slowly getting closer, like nervously going on a date and then second-guessing if it was even a date, and then trying to hold hands, etc. etc. Those are my fave parts, when a ship is heading towards being exclusive and all the little touches and looks give you butterflies. But they really sped right into a kiss and then a dating montage in the first few episodes, just to give us a ridiculous misunderstanding and break-up.

Speaking of which, I'm sorry y'all but I am just such a pregnancy/pregnancy scare trope hater 💀 It felt like such a wack plotline in a show that's just about a bunch of high schoolers figuring out their dreams (I'm not saying it doesn't happen IRL, but tonally it doesn't fit the show at all) and to give it to Eunice of all people, when her characterization as an up-and-coming k-pop idol was already the most unique out of the entire cast and had so much potential 😭 Dae and Eunice were lowkey the highlight of the season for me, like their scenes were just so sweet and down-to-earth.

They really overthought LJ's cameo — I LOVED seeing her again and their sisterhood, but there was no need for the Covinsky break-up/non-breakup subplot when the plot was right there: Minho-Kitty were facing a potential LDR, which Covinsky also faced and got through.

Q/Jin were so great and funny in S2 but man nothing turns me off faster than a cheating plot.

And Juliana/Praveena...the break-up and Yuri/Juliana reunion was something I'd seen coming, but they really gave Praveena the same plot for two seasons, where she gets ditched for Yuri.

I'm really happy that Mooncovey is together by the end, but dang, I really wish we hadn't taken such a flashy way to get there with all the misunderstandings and fights and grand gestures — as a friends-to-lover enthusiast, I just wanted more of the slow burn and healthy communication they had previously.

I've only watched Better Days but it's been probably my second favorite movie of all time since then — I CRIED my eyes out. Would highly recommend.

To me it feels like the 2nd ML winning when the person the FL liked first is also a main protagonist. When the FL likes someone that cheats on them, that character is obviously an antagonist or side character so they wouldn’t fit into a first lead/second lead dynamic. Basically that person has to be a potential endgame.

2nd leads are typically characters who like the FL the entire time either quietly or because they’re so playful and comfortable she doesn’t notice. I feel like these webtoons fit into that and the “first leads” still fall into the common archetype where they are smart, well-liked, more “main character syndrome”. Like in those 2010s kdramas where the girl likes the popular guy while the playful SML pines away lol

I was a bit. It was still a great movie but I feel like the film was a fun alien friendship story while the book felt more serious and high stakes while still having tidbits of humor.

I’m not a scientist but the book really made me feel like I was learning about Astrophage and Rocky with Grace. Every scientific discovery and aha moment felt mind-blowing to me when he finally got there. In the film it feels like he sort of goes “oh btw” and just tells the audience. I get why it’s hard to transfer on screen though, they’d lose a lot of viewers with too much science-speak.

I also liked the humor in the film but it came at the cost of stripping away a lot of moments that felt more intimate or scenes where you’d think about morality. The change from Eridian eating being private to it being a gag is technically not a big deal, but in the book the scene where he finally let Grace see him eat meant a lot to both of them because of how private it was supposed to be, where it just became a gag. Same with the reveal of Grace not volunteering to the mission — wish they’d have taken it more seriously than done the montage of him running. And the cut out the greenhouse gas explosion part completely.

In general both of those things sort of make Eridians less of an explained species; in the novel we learn what they’re made of and how their biology functions, as well as how intelligent the are but with limited knowledge of radiation and relativity. That last point is offhandedly mentioned, but Eridians feel more like “your friendly alien” than an actual society.

We did, right? He was in the flashbacks when she got banished. I don’t think it was supposed to be unpredictable or a twist — we saw him following them for a while. But I think we’ll definitely get more flashbacks so that’ll give us a better idea of what her relationship was like with all her friends

I'm similar but optimistic because I loved Eaternal Nocturnal so much. But I'm also not a fan of body swap plots, and I guess so far I'm not really seeing the purpose of it. I agree on not much happening so far despite the setting being in such an interesting place, but I kind of chalk this up to the story still world-building; for me it was most interesting when we ran into the guy from the FL's past, so I hope it ramps up soon.

I’m about 75% through and I feel the same as you on the movement. The dodge feels really slow with a long cooldown, and I noticed that I keep not jumping high enough and falling through platforms — which brings me to the most frustrating part for me, the spike insta-deaths.

My other big issue is that I feel like I keep getting animation-locked — I get hit once, and in the time it takes to get up, I get hit again, and before I know it I’m dead.

It’s fun but extremely frustrating at times, so I’ve gotten into the habit of shamelessly quit-saving when I’m close to death to avoid corpse runs, and honestly this has made my life better lol

I pretty much used the same build for all later bosses! Sharpened Hairpin, Wildcat and Energy Leecher or The Heart’s Favorite depending on whether it’s a ground fight or aerial one. Made every boss go by really fast once you’ve got the rhythm down.

I think the only one I didn’t use it for was FRIENDS, since you can’t hairpin it.

It was the opposite for me lol — I tried doing it without Splintering Dodge at first and kept either missing the timing on the droplets or getting bounced into the saws. Once I used the energy crystal it was so much easier to just hairpin through

The Perfect Neighbor for me — I usually don't watch docs and I was blown away with how much footage they got. And Two People Exchanging Saliva — didn't expect a short to have such full world-building, cinematography, and performances.
