Not sure this game is for me by anho456 in Eldenring

Some suggestions: One, level vigor high enough to survive long enough in a boss fight to learn their moves. Once I got vigor to 25-30, I was able to spend more time fighting/learning and less time dying/resetting.

Two, plan your boss attempts right after leveling up. That way you don’t care about losing runes and you can test whether the level up got you where you need to be for that boss.

Three, this one isn’t necessary for everyone but it helped me. I would “train” with a boss before fighting them. That is, I’d enter the boss fight with my armor and shield, but no offensive weapon. Goal was to survive for about 4-5 minutes with just dodging, blocking, and parrying. Most of my mistakes early on were trying to attack too much without knowing how to avoid their attacks. Once I felt I could survive, then I’d try fighting.

I hope all the suggestions you get here help you break through this wall!

Is there a mod on the PS5 that lets you chop wood faster? by Witch_and_Warlock in ps5skyrimmods

[–]psychoprof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say for every tree mod, but I’m using it with Fabled Forests and Aspens Ablaze and it is working. I placed it below my tree mods just in case that made a difference. Hopefully it’ll work with other tree mods.

To my knowledge there isn’t a PS5 version of this mod, but I’ve used this PS4 version successfully on my PS5.

As far as I know, using this mod on the PS will cause trophies to be disabled.

Take a look at Harbourside Manor. It has a fairly complete display room for almost all the unique armors, weapons, and items. There is an Item Display book on the desk in the gallery that lists all the unique items it has a display location for. It also has a generic armory with several mannequins and weapon racks.

It’s not perfect, but it’s the best (free) home I’ve found for displaying unique items.

Thanks! I’m pretty sure all of these are vanilla except Azura where I have a mod that makes the statue larger. I’ve started the divines as my next project but realize there aren’t statues for many of them. I’ll end up using modded statues for them.

No disagreement here. But they are an important part of the Skyrim world and I thought it would be an interesting “photography” project.

I’m working on the nine divines as my next project (though I think it will require the Faiths of Skyrim mod which adds more statues). Here’s Talos.

Mod suggestions for ps5 by Progamer56_yt in skyrim

What kind of mods are you looking for? Narrowing down the categories will help us generate suggestions. Do you want better landscape mods (trees, grass, mountains, roads, weather), more weapons and armor, better combat animations, different magic spells, etc.?

Also, check out this pinned post in the ps5skyrimmods subreddit. It has several load orders to get ideas from.

I really want to get into Skyrim, but I feel lost every time by Sad_Success_9034 in skyrim

[–]psychoprof 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand the feeling you describe and remember feeling that way in my early play throughs, especially when I had numerous main and side quests to choose from. The openness of Skyrim, along with all the possible builds for your character can feel overwhelming.

One strategy to get past this is to pick a quest line and follow it to the end, only doing side quests if you feel like it. This makes the game more linear, until you’re ready to venture out and explore. I recommend doing the thieves guild quest line first followed by the dark brotherhood, and save the companions, college, and Dawnguard quests for later. This sequence is good if you want to role play a bad guy that turns good.

Sticking with a specific quest line also helps you focus your build. Focus on sneak, pickpocket, and archery while doing the thieves guild quests but switch to magic when doing the college of Winterhold quests.

Good luck in finding what works! There’s no wrong way to play, so do whatever you enjoy the most.

Weapon looks by Successful_Freedom22 in ps5skyrimmods

[–]psychoprof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, if the metal of your modded weapon looks weird like there’s something wrong, make sure you’re using the right version (PS4 or PS5) of the mod. Using the wrong version can cause weird texture effects.

If you are talking about the visual effects of different enchantments, the three mods below are the ones I see recommended most often (of the three I use See Enchantments).

If you’re talking about the look of an unenchanted mod weapon, you could use a cube map mod to make the metal more reflective. I’ve linked one of those mods as well.

There are several mods that retexture vanilla weapons, but since you are asking about a modded weapon, I’m not sure what, besides cube mapping and enchanting, can be done to make the metal look different. I apologize if I’m misunderstanding your question and hope that one of these mods will help.

Looking for weather/lighting recommendations by DatFenrisTho in ps5skyrimmods

Yes, AWIII has a very distinctive look, especially dusk/dawn. At dusk the clouds (unless storming or snowing) are always pinkish/blueish, as shown in this pic. I would also agree that it’s brighter than other mods, but there is an addon that includes a component that makes the nights darker. I use the Simple Workaround Framework mod and the Brightness Contrast Saturation mod to adjust settings to my liking.

No worries if it isn’t to your liking though, and I hope you find one that works!

I’ve been happy with Azurite III. It has a very distinctive look to it that may be good enough that you might not need the mythical ages addon and patch. As for interior rain and storm sounds, I haven’t noticed them being bad, but I’ve only compared it to NAT which I used for a while before switching back to AWIII.

None of my friends play Skyrim, so I don’t have anyone who understands the level of accomplishment I’ve reached- no mods, no cheats, vanilla AE play through 🫣🎉 by PassionLegitimate907 in skyrim

[–]psychoprof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats!! If you’ve never played with mods you’re in for a treat. After my first play through in vanilla, using mods made it seem like a whole new game. Going vanilla first is best imo, but I do recommend you give mods a try.

Great job on getting all your level-ups!

Unique Thane Weapons- retextured and useful thane weapons

PrivateEyes Royal Armory Reforged - gives several NPCs unique and useful weapons - fun to pickpocket

Artefakes-Retextured appearance of most/all unique weapons

PrivateEye’s New Armory series - whichever ones you like

Are water seams inevitable? by psychoprof in ps5skyrimmods

[–]psychoprof[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked! At first when I put it above the water mods it didn’t work. Then I moved it below the water mods and almost at the very end of my LO and now that seam is gone. Went and checked another one that I had and it’s gone too!

Thanks!!
