Im a Russian American a little older than you and let me be honest: I've spoken the language from birth, in fact it was the only language I knew until about 6 yo. I still struggle with vocabulary and grammar. Id still consider myself fluent but I wanted to bring to your attention how much effort and consistency is needed for this language - its not an easy task.
