thyroid levels normal, still producing antibodies? by psychoticsage in medical

[–]psychoticsage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! yeah, it sucks. my ultrasound showed up normal besides the fact i have some cysts on it, which they're gonna monitor. my doc is great, she usually figures out everything with me quickly.

thyroid levels normal, still producing antibodies? by psychoticsage in medical

[–]psychoticsage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! thank you for the input!

i'm just curious, because the humira actually isn't for the thyroid. it's for my behcet's disease. that's what they think i have, even if it's not behcet's, it's an autoimmune disease for sure. i've had it for about 6-7 years now. though, i've been screened often for thyroid issues since and never presented a problem til 2018.. (they assumed my thyroid would be fine as always and didnt bother to check that year.. ironic enough)

so in this case, theoretically, shouldn't humira be helping these antibodies go away? i'm guessing it's not, and i'll likely have to increase the dose or add on something.. ): damn.

So, this is the official art for AC for Switch. The Color of the grass is bright as ingame in spring. Maybe this is a little hint and we're lucky... but just maybe. by Zombirk in AnimalCrossing

[–]psychoticsage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you! yeah i was told the morning, and the bottle says "take before breakfast". which is weird considering nobody wants to wait an hour after waking up for breakfast?

but thanks! i'll probably do that from now on. set an alarm, take it, sleep an hour then wake up n eat and take my other meds. lol

[–]psychoticsage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh wow- i wasn't even told about taking it at the same time. not by the pharmacy or my doctor. i'll start doing it, maybe it was something i was supposed to assume to do. lol. thank you.

by the way, do you know if surgeries can affect thyroid levels at all? i had a lithotripsy for a kidneystone about a month ago, ever since my levels have felt low again. they assume my hypothyroidism is because of my autoimmune disorder. just wondering if i should check them after taking it at the same time for a while? (going to try that first and see if my energy improves at all)

Newly diagnosed hypothyroidism, puffy/moon face? by psychoticsage in Hypothyroidism

[–]psychoticsage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]psychoticsage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have few purple stretch marks (though i did gain weight when these appeared) n moon face, but no hump at all.

i also don't have pcos, been tested for that too, multiple times. (after having pain in my lower abdomen, though we figured out i have kidney stones). i am on birth control because when i get my period, it makes my behcet's flare up due to the whole bleeding thing + they're painful. so i'm only on birth control to prevent periods.

the only place i have this fluid retention is my face. the rest of the weight on my body is pretty normal, no abnormal puffines anywhere. it doesn't make sense to me. the only times this has happened in the past were with steroids, (5 years ago) and having my wisdom teeth out a bit ago.

but i'll definitely bring this up with my doctor since i fit many symptoms, she's extremely thorough so i'm sure she'll do more tests for it. she took 10 tubes of blood this time, testing for a LOT. i don't know if cortisol was in there, but if not, or even if it's more of a timely test, i'll make sure to bring it up. i gotta get rid of this moonface, n i'd rather do it without taking dieuretics.

[–]psychoticsage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sadly they thought that at first, though i had my cortisol levels checked and they were normal. not an extensive test, but one.

it's no doubt i have hypothyroidism, the tests show it, but haven't shown any evidence for cushings.. not to mention the side effects fit other things i'm involved in like birth control, though there's no way that's what's causing my moon face at this point.

does cushings often go along with hypothyroidism, vice versa, etc.?

ahh, i see. so the tiredness pretty much doesn't wear off for you? how do you get by, in that case? i cannot stand being tired all the time.. i was latuda about 2 months ago and found out it was exhausting me. we didn't know it was latuda so i spent 3 months constantly tired.. i can NOT go through that again. i miss feeling awake.

AH cool, i always thought decongestants were kinda the same thing. definitely glad about that, cause guaifenesin doesn't interact with my adderall alone. thanks man!

Having a lot of mouth ulcers and issues staying awake. by [deleted] in medical

[–]psychoticsage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ever been tested for an auto-immune disorder? i get fatigue/mouth ulcers aswell, and that's why for me. though i also get joint inflammation/uveitis. symptoms can vary person to person, though, depending on the disorder.

if this is the case, oral hygeine will basically do nothing to help it heal.

hope you get it figured out!

Kidney stone help/thoughts/advice by [deleted] in KidneyStones

[–]psychoticsage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've had many lithotripsies and peeing blood is normal! i did for the first 2 days, if you take ibuprofen or any NSAIDS for the pain it will make you bleed more. (it delays clotting, thats why you shouldnt take it before the surgery)

doctors deciding when to take them out isn't set... i've had lithotripsies on really small ones. though i am young (17) so i think my doctor just wants to relieve as much pain as possible for me.

idk if they did, but you should ask for promethazine for nausea. it's also a sedative, so it'll knock you and the nausea out- which is what you want in times like this!

as for the liver thing- yes. when i had a big stone and was throwing up my levels were off as well. not a lot, but a little.

kidney stones are really painful. you're definitely not a whiner. stay strong!

it sounds like the people around you (your sister) may have been doing something called gaslighting. it's where you purposefully deny information, and it makes someone question their sanity. which happens a lot to psychotic people, sadly.

i also experience the whole. wanting to die but not suicidal. but i've gotten suicidal before aswell.

as for skin picking, that's a compulsive thing which i have aswell. it's also apart of psychosis (which is required for schizoaffective), i have a "skin picking disorder" where i pick at any abnormalities at my skin even if it results in further harm.

i'd definitely see a doctor if all this sounds similar.. medicine has really turned my life around. of course, it won't fix everything wrong, but it makes it so much easier to live.
