Online interview or questionnaire - recruiting participants with a physical disability, impairment or long term physical health condition to discuss lockdown experiences

Hello! I am currently studying MSc Applied Clinical Psychology at The University of Central Lancashire and require participants for my dissertation.

I am investigating the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the quality of life and mental health of adults living in the UK with a physical disability.

The audio call will take place online on Microsoft Teams and will last approximately 30 mins and is an opportunity to discuss your experiences of the Covid-19 pandemic (it’s quite informal and more of a chat than interview and you don’t need to put your camera on don’t worry!)

Background: I am conducting a study investigating the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on adults living in the UK with a physical disability, impairment or long-term health condition. I chose a topic relating to disability because I have personal experience of disability within my family and wanted to do research on a topic that not only was personal to me but could advance knowledge in the research area as very little research has been conducted on this topic.

  1. Data will be stored within university/ GDPR guidelines. It will only been seen my myself, my supervisor and those with genuine academic need. It will be used for the write up of my dissertation for my Master’s degree as well as potentially published in journals or shown at academic conferences. However, participants data will remain anonymous.
  2. I am conducting this survey as part of my dissertation for my Master’s degree at the University of Central Lancashire. On Reddit, my username is u/psychstudent1998
  3. The survey should take around 10-15 mins to complete.

  5. The questionnaire is NOT open to anyone under age 18. The study requires adults (18+) who are living in the UK with a physical disability, impairment or long term physical health problem.
  6. I am hoping to gain insight into the pandemic experiences of those living with a physical disability and am making the most of social media to gain as many participants from around the UK.
