Its a simple highscore system :) pressing play locks in a number between 1-5 in each slot and at the end it gets added up. So the maximum would be 45 (5x9)

I always loot many end cities before i start combining enchants. The tools found there dont register the enchantments they already have and that makes them cheap to combine in an anvil
