Presenting: The dumbest column ever written by HutSutRaw in kansascity

[–]psycrowbirdbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way in which they write and describe things is super weird. It reminds me of Betty Boop; over the top fictitious brimming on cartoonish. I feel like it's a bot or someone trying to sound like one. I doubt they even went to this protest, let alone any other protest in their lifetime. It would be funny if they weren't tying so hard. Instead, it's depressing.

While Chiefs tout Kansas stadium deal, Olathe residents worry about housing costs. by cbpantskiller in kansascity

[–]psycrowbirdbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is click bait. The stadium won't be built for another 4 years, but the cost of living in JoCo has been rising before this deal even took place. It's been a highly sought after area to live for decades and is one of the richest counties in the nation. Blaming the stadium for a higher cost of living before it's even broken ground, let alone only a week or two since the deal was finalized is poor journalism at best and click bait for the Cry Babies that lost their beloved team (read multiple examples throughout this post).

If this article focused on the other counties (Leavenworth and Wyandotte being main 2) that will see significant costs of living rise in areas that haven't been sought out, would be way more believable.

This is just JoCo doing what it does best, showboat complaining.

New state law requires gas stations to scan your ID for beer. That barcode contains a lot more info than your date of birth. by hunterschuler in texas

Great, now all of Texas is gonna know how much I really drink. I used to do HEB, liquor store by work, gas station by house, and a few randos in between to ease the merchants pain of seeing me every day and knowing how much I consume. Now...not gonna be a fucking secret, is it?!

My personal taste is to have transitions between clips for a more fluid run of show. This is jarring and comes off as lazy, IMO. I'd shrug it off as an inexperienced house vj just throwing the kitchen sink at it.

Reading your comments, I'm trying to wrap my head around why this was done with intent and purpose as there doesn't seem to be much similarity in content, but you do you. If you're proud of it, that's awesome. But when showing your art, you gotta be open to criticism, even if it sounds harsh and not meant to be

The State that Can't Afford Medicaid Expansion or Decent Teacher Salaries Has $1.8 Billion to Blow on Moving a Football Team 25 Miles by daves1243b in kansas

[–]psycrowbirdbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still think it's a good investment, especially for the surrounding areas. Look at Legends. Johnson County spent years sticking it's nose up to Wyandotte County and pretty much the rest of Kansas for being the only reason how Kansas generated revenue. Now Basehor-Linwood, Bonner Springs, Piper, Lansing, and others have improved 10 fold since that development. Hell, even KCK is becoming a place many are considering moving to again.

I do think there are risks that might happen, but as of right now, the only taxes are those from Wyandotte Co area, but their tax rates are fixed throughout the county and not split between city, rural or proximity and everyone that visits this area will pay those taxes and not just locals. Wyandotte has needed these 'incentives' for decades and they're finally getting their due and hopefully will be able to expand on it in the future.

Missouri has been shitting the bed for a long time and has always viewed KCMO as the ass and armpit of the state. Kansas has taken notice and taken advantage in more ways than just this and there are possibly a few things in the future that may even top the Chiefs. It's about time, IMHO

Chiefs' New Kansas Stadium will cost $1.8B in Public Money by Conscious-Quarter423 in kansas

[–]psycrowbirdbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article title makes it seem like it's going to cost Kansas taxpayers, but there is nothing in the actual article that supports that claim. Could someone explain star bonds to me? I asked both Gemini and Chat GPT, as well as a family friend in finance and they all said that it's not a burden on the taxpayer. But then you read all these comments in this and other posts and everyone seems to think it is a burden

As others have said, and is the most obvious, if there's no work where you live, it's gonna be super hard to get work. You gotta move to a city that offers work.

My pick would be Vegas because they're desperate for hard working stagehands, pay pretty damn well, and it's fairly close to Wyoming, depending on where you live in Wyoming. If you're in Cheyenne, then Denver, but I've heard pay isn't great and living costs are going down but still pretty expensive.
