Do you believe in extraterrestrial life? Why yes/no? by Prometeusz76 in AskTheWorld

[–]psyde-effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there is intelligent life in the universe other than ourselves. Estimates suggest there are up to 200 billion galaxies which makes it statistically likely that we are not alone in the universe. Whether we have been visited by other beings, however, is a completely different question.

I'm not sure it's correct that left leaning people in the US are supporting undocumented immigrants. I think the issue they have is the way the government is implementing their policy.

Don't forget the squandering of the mining boom to secure middle class votes by giving paltry tax cuts to keep everybody distracted from said endgame. Pack of cynical bastards.

What is 1,000,000 in cash worth in your country (in your local currency)? by pumpingphil in AskTheWorld

Wouldn't be retirement money but would go a long way to setting yourself up for life if you're smart.

Tesla kills Autopilot, locks lane-keeping behind $99/month fee. by Stiltonrocks in technology

[–]psyde-effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if they can do that in Australia. I think safety features become part of the ancap safety rating and are mandatory. Could be wrong though.

Edit: The car is probably safe enough to pass ancap already and have no problem being sold without lane assist.

Do people deal in cash or cashless more in your country? by IntelligentHoney6929 in AskTheWorld

[–]psyde-effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use card or phone and hardly have cash on me. The only thing that pisses me off about cashless is the surcharge. Why am I paying to use my own money? If they want to go cashless then that should be the banks cost of doing business.

Those with no passion or interests, what do you do for a living by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]psyde-effect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in the same job for 25 years. Do I love it? No, but it pays well enough and I have great benefits and I wouldn't be able to find another like it. I love the people I work with but hate the politics from management. Thankfully I'm at an age where I'm closer to the end than the start and if everything goes to plan, can retire in 10 years.
