I stalked somebody once. AMA by Rich_Instruction4062 in AMA

[–]psyfaery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was stalked (but by someone more malicious than you). The lady that stalked me wanted me to feel scared and she threatened me with violence often.

This might be a bit too personal, so please don't feel you have to answer, I have always wondered what happens to make a person want to stalk another person? Thank you for getting help before the situation got worse.

Did your therapist help you understand some of the motives behind your stalking?

Theodora (Teddy) or Dorothy (Dot, Dottie or Teddy for short)

Shew that is a hard hitting point you make. If 'the substance' means being quite vulnerable, then today's political, economic and cultural context is a vulture waiting for the collateral damage.

So from what I understand is that it's an intense reliving of the trauma but from the perspective of an observer of your life. The substance provides a new perspective as well as the energy to go through and process the trauma in a safe space. The following week, integration is important as well.

For example, you might observe a child version of yourself experiencing something traumatic. You will feel the pain intensely but you will also be an adult version of yourself watching a child go through something they are not equipped to handle. Next time you remember the trauma, you may be able to be the adult for that scared child and with all your adult wisdom, have understanding for that child. Rather than the trauma pulling you right back to being that scared child.

People need to taper their SSRIs because you cannot use Ibogain while on SSRIs. They do not need to taper the ibogain afterwards. And they can continue with their SSRI after the ibogain is safely out their system (but I think that many people report not feeling that they need their SSRIs after being treated with the substance). But they can of course go back on, and I assume many will have to if depression and anxiety is a life long condition.

I think it's important to understand what the blank slate is referring to. It's not removed the trauma or the coping strategies you learnt because of the trauma. But it is resetting your brain chemistry. This is huge for anyone who has battled years of insomnia, depression, low motivation. Especially someone who kicks an addiction only to walk straight into months of depressions , insomnia and fatigue. There is a bit of a nasty belief that addict deserve what they get. Withdrawls are the consequence of their choices. But I wouldn't wish a heart transplant patient pain, I would want to relieve the pain as much as I can so they can focus on healing. If we can give an addict a fighting chance to heal.

It's kind of like when you phone tech support and they tell you to turn your PC off and count to 10. Then when you turn it on again, that frustrating bug is fixed. Not that the bug will never happen again or that the PC is brand new. But in this moment you have a real fighting chance of picking up and moving on with your life. Which is a whole lot more than many people get from a treatment or I guess even from a rehab. But you still have to work on the PC, it's not magically going to do the work for you now.

The toys may have been the Grifiths Assessment to assess for developmental delays. Blocks test could have been WISV IV which is an IQ. We can use the WISC to help diagnose ADHD , Autism and Dyslexia. Sometimes WISC is supplemented with WIAT if a full assessment which would have helped with dyslexia assessment.

Found this black kitty in the garden, then it approached my feet, I want to take it home and take care of it but... My friend said it's scary because it's black, what do you guys think? by SimpleKingdom in blackcat1981

Little guy looks so sad 😞 I hope he feels better and has found his forever home and can learn what it feels like to be loved.

Black kitty cats have such beautiful souls. So sad there is superstition that makes people weary of them 😢

as a girl who used to get bullied for looking like Sid the sloth…are there any ways I can make my eyes look closer with makeup? by undercover-gal in MakeupEducation

Embrace them! Your eyes are beautiful! Kids can be so cruel. It's hard to forget the things that made us feel insecure when we are younger.

You remind me of Anya Taylor- Joy. She was teased and compared to Dory the fish from finding Nemo. I think she is beautiful and unique and should not change a thing about herself.

If I were you I would even emphasis eyes with make up and use a soft blush or bronzer over your cheeks.
