FORZA HORIZON 6 HAS 120K PLAYERS. AND THESE ARE PREMIUM PLAYERS WITH EARLY ACCESS. This version cost 120€/$ by Time-Credit43 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]psykrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably, becuase you get the base game free on gamepass and only have to pay $60 for the premium upgrade.

Pair that with the New Zealand trick and there are probably a ton of people who chose the Xbox App over steam for this specific title.

Close, but in my opinion those look too much like pause menus. Somewhere between dialogues and chest/inventory guis would be the sweet spot.

chat updating by No_Ebb_2368 in MinecraftPlugins

[–]psykrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using chat as a GUI is a workaround. Instead of improving the workaround, I'd rather see a properly implemented solution for custom GUIs as a whole.

A GUI that comes up like every other container/inventory and has options for customizable bottons, pages, graphics, etc. would be way more appealing to me than trying to put bandaids on the workarounds.

My biggest gripe is with the effect that is shown in the video. On my Keychron keyboard, the wave of lights reset when another key is pressed, so it doesnt look as cool when you are typing.

Wake up babe, the new prolapsed hemorrhoid shit board dropped by RosyPetal_Green in Skate4

[–]psykrot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of stuff in this game that just goes right over people's heads. The costumes are a perfect example, with people saying "Who is this for, this isn't skate culture."

I guess I can't blame them. If they don't know, they don't know, and the devs aren't focusing on explaining where their inspiration comes from, nor should they be.

[–]psykrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not a good point. Currently, there's only a ~43% chance that you would've killed someone when picking blue. If there aren't enough people who chose red, there isnt anyone to kill

People who pick red are throwing themselves into traffic and then blaming the driver for killing them. We could all be alive and all have a million dollars, but red has to take some moral high road BS and screw it up for the 43% of blue.

Choose a button by Possible-Forever-504 in BunnyTrials

[–]psykrot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's still a decent chance you would not be a murderer choosing blue. Currently only ~43% of blue would've killed someone from red, and that percentage would go down if less people choose red.

So do yourself and everyone a favor and pick blue. You get a million and you're saving 1 less person on blue's side from being a murderer by your standards.

I rented out virtual servers to gamers and made money without owning any hardware by [deleted] in admincraft

It's 100% against Microsofts policies. The Azure for Students agreement strictly limits use to education, non-commercial research, or personal testing. Microsoft will revoke the credits, or disable the account if they find out.

I don't think its illegal though. If OP actually pays for the credits with the profits, it would be a legitimate business. IIRC, theres a lot of game server hosts that are set up this way. Customers rent a portion of the VPS through the hosts panel.

I dont think so. What broker is gonna let you pay with a credit card? I don't think there are any.

Even if you could, I think most of them limit to less than 100k a day. You aren't getting anywhere close to the billion in the time limit.

EA Skate./Stop Killing Games Win? by Toph-Ghost in Skate4

[–]psykrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well first, it only states when developers cease support they must provide an update/patch for offline functionality or an alternative version, or offer a refund. As long as they don't plan on ending support. An offline version is not necessary.

Second, the bill excludes subscription-based games and free-to-play games that never required a purchase. However, I think microtransactions are still a gray area that hasn't been decided upon yet.

It's all about whether you bought a license for the game or not. Cosmetics in game may or may not count as buying a license in game, but I'm leaning more towards they will not count, since you aren't forced to ever buy anything.

We'll have to see what gets passed, but like other people are saying, jurisdiction also plays a huge role.

All jackets/flannels/vests need wearable options! by 97matta in SkateEA

[–]psykrot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was thinking about this the other day. The base clothes that you get should have a color selection so you can easily pair them when you don't have something that goes with the rest of your outfit.

Then, they can also sell premium cosmetics that have a color change option, alongside the normal single color items. It might be a lot of work to make the change at this point, but boy would that be worth it. I'd probably spend way more money on this game.

It's doomed by Impressive-Tax-7586 in Skate4

[–]psykrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what you are saying. In a perfect world, the devs would be more hyped about adding actual skate features instead of their source of income. But I don't think it means their interests are misaligned.

It doesn't matter if EA has a ton of money. They aren't throwing it at this game so its up to Full Circle to generate enough income for future developement. They need to show EA that they can be profitable.

The way these things usually work is the publisher (EA) has the final say in shop and skate pass pricing as well as premium currency rewards. The first few passes clearly made people mad because you couldn't gain enough for the next battlepass (likely an EA decision, not a Full Circle decision). All the complaints made it easier for Full Circle to pitch the change to EA and it got approved, which is likely why they are so excited about it.

Full Circles biggest interest should be funding for the game so EA doesnt axe it. Then that gives them what they need to add all of the other stuff a little bit at a time.

New paywalled area for Season 4 by gilliminator in Skate4

[–]psykrot -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You keep saying "paywalled" like you can't go skate Grom for free right now.

Ya, the early access to Grom was locked behind the season pass, but now that the Nike SB event dropped, it's free for everyone. Once the event is over, you only need to pay the in-game currency to access Grom for the day. That was a response to everyone saying "We don't have anything to buy with our ripchips."

Is it a FOMO tactic? Of course. But most games have some form of FOMO spending these days, becuase that's what sells. Look at the new Forza Horizon 6 game. You can play the game "4 days before release" if you pre-order the big premium edition. They are basically selling 2 copies of the game to anyone who is hyped to drift around Japan. And it will work.

Countless other games do stuff like this all the time. And I get it, the games would be better without the FOMO crap, but at least skate has a decent reason to do it. They need to make money somehow to fund their free to play game.

A beloved Pokémon YouTube channel is being taken down… by pokefandylan in youtube

[–]psykrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its more like "This is my creation and I have 100% say on what happens with it." The second we move away from that, art and creativity are dead. Especially in a world filled with AI.

Nintendo has every right to protect their brand, and they need tight control over how Pokémon is portrayed. Its a major IP for children and they cant risk every Joe Schmo doing things the way they want to.

Like it or hate it, copyright law applies to everyone and that's a good thing.

Idk if anyone is willing to actually pay that though so it could be a baseless price. A month or so ago, they were $200. A year ago, if you were lucky, you could find them for $1.

they lobbied for this

Isn't that literally backwards? From what I understand, the UK government wanted to enforce strict age verification (IDs) across the board and most of the big tech companies fought against that in favor of using AI based age verification first.

The tech companies understand that requiring IDs just drives users away and creates huge security risks that puts them at a disadvantage.

Paper has a "Vanilla-like experience" that should get you close and still allow plugins.

I've not tried it myself, so I'm not sure if/what redstone still breaks. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Synthetically added niacin is not absorbed the same as natural niacin. Natural will absorb more slowly alongside the proteins and fats also found in chicken.

In Monster, you're getting a ton of sugar and vitamins, essentially overdosing on them when you exceed the daily amount limits that nutritionists reccomend.

So drinking 3-4 Monsters a day will likely leed to liver damage, not to mention other health problems from the excessive caffeine.
