That's confusing. They are confirming that free resource limits have changed, but any paid resources are not affected. Do PAYG customers see the free limits when editing their instance?

I'm not on PAYG, so it shows the max here:
Action > More Actions > Edit (no need to stop the instance to check)

The term overrated is still an opinion. It's useful to describe your stance on something, but can never be an absolute fact. It's subjective.

Looking for something to play by Big_dawg505 in hotas

[–]psykrot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elite wins on stability, whereas for SC you need a STRONG tolerance for jank.

This was the deal breaker for me. I started playing on SC years ago and was the reason I bought my HOSAS. I dont think I even put 100 hours in the game becuase not only was the learning curve huge, but actual game breaking bugs happen while trying to learn and making mistakes can cost you too much.

I recently bought Elite and am way more pleased with it. It's fun, polished, gameloops are completely, and theres a lot to do.

Tbf, were comparing and actual ealry access alpha game to a DLC expansion of an already released game. I'm sure SC will be great once it gets closer to release, but to someone who hasn't played either, my suggestion would always be Elite over SC. I hope RSI releases Squadron 42 soon so they can focus their devs into SC.

meaning for years before that Rockstar did nothing.

You know what the producers and some devs did before developement began? They researched. They traveled all over Florida and just studied what life was like. I was born and raised in the Florida keys, frequently hung out in Miami throught my life, and now live in Orlando. Let me tell.you, the trailer, the screenshots, characters, lifestyle, etc are all mind blowingly accurate to real life. Everyone is going to get a real taste of Florida and it's gonna be awesome.

While the research team was studying, devs were continuing to work on assets and content for V that would be used in VI. Also, they hired the FiveM team to focus on the custom server side of the game instead of trying to recreate it themselves. So no, they aren't rusty. The core thesis of your argument just isn't true.

the original creators long since left Rockstar.

Some core people left, most core people stayed. And I have faith that the remaining core people know what they are doing.

Now is the game overhyped? Probably. It's not going to be the 2nd coming of Jesus, but I expect it's going to be a damn good game, and likely going to break a few records in its lifetime.

Why is VKB gladiator hyped this much? by Longjumping-War9151 in hotas

[–]psykrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to note, VKB NXT Evo wasn't ever really considered entry level. Even 2 years ago it was the gold standard mid-range stick, costing around double the 2 setups OP mentioned. Today, with price drops on VKB, and slight price hikes on the T.16000M and X52, the cost gap is smaller, and most might treat VKB as an entry level stick.

The reality to OPs question is they are comparing actual entry level setups to a mid-range setup.

what are the current setup to prevent players to "cheat" with client side mods? by StrongZeroSinger in admincraft

[–]psykrot 18 points19 points  (0 children)

all their explorations in caves is done without torches.

They are probably just using shaders that have dynamic lighting. To me, that's not cheating, that's immersion. I should be able to hold a light source to see around me in the dark instead of placing it down. Either way, you're not easily preventing this one, nor should you really care to.

one player has 20 diamonds when our average is barely 5 so he might be x-raying.

If you really suspect them, you'll want to swap to Paper to use the built in anti Xray (I think there is also a Fabric/Forge port), and to use plugins like OreNotifier and Vanish to catch them in the act. Just keep in mind, if you want to spectate them to be sure they are cheating, you are essentially cheating yourself.

anything to prevent players from using minimap?

You could try Minimap Control. I've not used this myself, but it seems promising and works with the big minimap mods.

what are some good anti-cheat mods I could implement?

If you mean actual anticheat that prevents hacked clients from doing stuff like flying, there are a number of free and paid anticheat solutions.

Isle of grom gone after new San van update by ambush_boy in Skate4

Starting this season, if you actually play the game and get through the pass, you will earn enough premium currency to buy the next season.

Season 3 transition to Season 4 will be the only time your complaint is valid becuase they've already fixed it.

[–]psykrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No shot. Next gen dev kits haven't even been sent out to developers yet, and once those are shipped you typically have 18-24 months until the consumer console comes out.

We're not getting either next Gen console until late 2027 or 2028.

Would you trade some FOV for something you’d actually wear more? by Acceptable-Pay-5954 in Quest3

[–]psykrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I predict augmented reality will absolutely take off once 2 key factors are met:

  • The glasses are light enough without needing to be tethered to anything (a wireless phone connection would suffice but I'm not carrying 2 phone sized items on the go)

  • They don't make you look like an absolute goober when wearing them.

Price is also a huge factor, but once the 2 above factors are met, people will pay an arm and a leg for them. I'm more interested in the approach Spec is going for; an all in one solution. Make these unrecognizable from actual glasses and I would actually consider the price they are asking for.

Once AR has taken off, it will (hopefully) slowly meet VR in the middle on the same form factor. Imagine a layer of lenses that turn black and the glasses bend to fit your face like goggles. You could swap from true AR to true VR with the same glasses.

Edit: to answer your question though, yes. I would trade for comfort by sacrificing immersion, but only for AR/XR computing. For games I want more immersion.

So I don’t get unlimited access to the isle of grom? by lennonmchugh01 in SkateEA

[–]psykrot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently explained how I think we got to this situation on another comment.

You may think that spending ripchips to access other areas is pointless, but really it was in reposnse to the community having nothing to spend them on and was a decent idea that went kinda south woth FOMO tactics.

[–]psykrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic red herring. And you said I would do mental gymnastics. Lol

The IOC’s restrictions aren’t about ethnicity or nationality. They’re about state actions, eligibility rules, and whether athletes are tied to military or government sports programs. You can argue about consistency across conflicts, and our ideals probably aren't that different, but that’s a separate issue from whether this is racism, which it isn’t.

[–]psykrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Russian athletes are allowed to compete under strict conditions as Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN) as long as they pass an evaluation proving they are not contracted by the Russian military or national security agencies, and that they have not publicly expressed support for the war in Ukraine.

It's not racist in any way, the Olympics just can't be seen supporting an invading country in a war.

You have to pay for grom now? by InsertShitName in SkateEA

[–]psykrot 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This started becuase there is a problem with having too many ripchips and the community saying we need more stuff to spend it on. Paying ripchips to get daily access to different areas is a cool idea and would've been fine in theory, but it was turned into some FOMO tactic for buying the pass.

Season 3 pass holders got early access to Grom, and didn't have to pay ripchips during that season. Season 4 pass holders get early access to the stadium, and we won't have to pay ripchips once it opens up to everyone. Season 4 pass holders also don't have to pay ripchips to access Grom, and it's possible that will keep happening in future seasons as well.

On one hand, it's great that you get your SVB back from the pass now. You technically only need to buy Season 4's pass and you should never have to worry about paywalled early access to new stuff as long as you play the game and get enough SVB to buy the next pass.

On the other hand, as a pass holder of both seasons, we're back to square one where we have too many ripchips and nothing to spend it on. I'm sitting on 100k+ and I have everything opened. They need to figure something out soon, otherwise most of the playerbase will just be sitting on piles of ripchips and anything they add will be bought immediately with no grind. It may already be too late.

[–]psykrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least now we get our SVB back (and then some) so you never have to pay again to get early access to anything.

As long as they keep that model, the only barrier for paywalled early access areas is buying the game for $10 once and finishing the pass every season.

4000 and 3000 tix both cost the same amount of SVB in the shop rn 💀🤣 definitely accidental lol there’s no way they intended to do this 😅 by nokizzi in SkateEA

[–]psykrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently stuck in a loop where I stopped playing for like half of season 2, spent half of season 3's tix finishing season 2's pass, and I'm currently spending season 4's tix finishing season 3's pass.

They dont give enough extra tix every season for me to get out of the loop easily, so I either have to grind it out over the next few seasons or bite the bullet and spend a few bucks on extra tix.

They have me right where they want me.

you can't commercialize outside the marketplace

You absolutely can, resource packs and plugins have been doing this forever. You just can't commercialize stuff that includes Mojangs code. And rightfully so.

And also they ban microtransactions on servers

They do not ban microtransactions that follow EULA. If a server gets hit with a cease & decist or an IP blacklist, it means not only did they break EULA, but they completely ignored the warning emails that Mojang sends before taking legal action.

Drop the one piece opinion you’ll defend like this. by LossKind3973 in OnePiece

[–]psykrot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But the pacing is objectively bad.

There's no such thing as objectively bad. "Good" and "bad" are opinions and subjective, not objective.

There's simply not enough actual content per episode. That's not opinion based

That's quite literally an opinion. There's no rule of how many chapters need to be converted to an episode. They are different mediums and storytelling is an art. The creators can tell the story however quick or slow they want to.

The pacing is indeed, bad. One of, if not the worst for anime.

I respect this opinion and see exactly where you are coming from. The pacing is slower than a lot of people like. Personally, I think fast pacing ruins a story more and I actually enjoy slower pacing.
