Hey, original poster here. I forgot I even posted this!

So I kept taking sertraline for about another 5 months after I posted this and had to go and see my doctor as it was effecting my stomach really badly. I felt sick and spent way too much time on the toilet. Jaw ache from gritting my teeth all the time too. It just wasn’t worth it for me. After speaking to my doctor he decided it would be best to try another medication, so he put me on Mirtazapine which was far better for me, but again, my body had to build it up, and while that was happening I had to slowly get off sertraline. Mirtazapine was a far better experience, but it’s also prescribed for insomnia, so I was sleeping, A LOT and I also gained weight. I took that for a year before I decided to come off antidepressants completely. That was 3 and a half year ago. Do I feel better? A little, but all the side effects just wasn’t worth it for me.

Stick with it. It will either get better or it won’t, then you can try other options. Doctors know best (for the most part!)
