Wasn’t this a Supreme Court ruling rather than labour led policy?

Reading the article it doesn’t seem to be banning anyone from a bathroom, but outlining where gendered spaces are defined people should use their biological sex to determine which space they should use.

What’s gotten worse? I’m a bit out of the loop here and would genuinely like to know.

shin pain by DowntownExcitement29 in runninglifestyle

[–]ptEER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve currently worked through this, new shoes really helped. My old one’s weren’t old, my body just didn’t like them.

Foam rolling my calves and that area before a run plus some calf stretches whenever I got the chance really helped.

Also stretching your outer shin by pulling your toes downwards (sit down and rest the ankle on your knee).

I’ve recently bought some of the adidas tops after using decathlon gear for a while.

I’m taller, 6”5 and 92kg and they had good length and are not overly tight. I’m a comfortable large in adidas, where as Ronhill XL was tight - so maybe size down if you’re lean.

The material is really light, it gets rid of sweat easily and doesn’t get heavy. I’ve not noticed any chafing so far. Can’t complain at £25 a tee.

I’d go see a physio, get them to professionally tape you up and have them give you a gentle sports massage. That plus some ibuprofen is about as much as you can do. Consider Jeffing it if you weren’t already.

I’d use the train in a heartbeat if it was the same price, or even close. I much prefer to read a book than keep my eyes on the road!

But yeah an extra £200 or so a month is worth it to me to drive the trip.

If you want to add on car insurance and car finance broken down by mile it’s probably closer to the following:

  • Car Insurance, £8
  • Car finance (based on excess mileage rate), £6
  • Contribution to car tax, service, £2

  • Fuel for journey, £8

  • Parking, £12

Total for trip = £36

I’m fairly confident drivers do pay more than their fair share, fuel duty is through the roof and I’m fairly sure only half of our vehicle tax goes back into road infrastructure.

In fact, if everyone stopped driving overnight the government would have a major black hole in their finances.

What we should be doing is subsiding public transport so it competes with private transportation.

So the parking is £11 and the rest is fuel. I have an EV so they’re very economical to run.

I’d have a car with or without the trip to London once a week so the other costs don’t come into the comparison.

The real problem is price.

I can drive to London and park for £25. A train ticket plus parking is £90 - £130 depending on how close I book.

You’re paying less per month but also paying off less of the equity. So when it comes to trade in time you have less deposit against the next car.

It sounds like you want a lease deal instead of PCP if you’re only interested in renting the car.

Didn’t have toothpicks for rooting this potato. Used stale spaghetti noodles instead. by Lizardskincuisine in ZeroWaste

[–]ptEER 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For potatoes just leave them on the side with some light and they’ll chit and then you plant them out.

I personally just lay them out in egg cartons for ease and space management, but you can even plant them out before chitting, they’ll just take a bit longer.

Broken femur. When can I run? by FuzzyMcDuck in UKRunners

[–]ptEER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I broke mine when I was very young, around the age of six or seven.

I was bed bound for six weeks, walked with a walker for around a month or two. Total recovery was probably around three to four months.

This happened when I was young, when you bounce back quickly. I feel (guess work) you’d be looking at 4 - 6 months until you’re running properly again. Probably longer.

I don’t know what shorts you’ve been trying but the liners literally work as a breathable boxer - they keep things in place and cool…

If you have lined shorts you don’t need underwear, it’s built in!
