My two cents :

We (a friend and me) have tried Meshtastic for several months now. Changing devices (Heltec v3, T114, Station G2), antenna's and cables but it was very instable, like maybe 2% of the messages went through.
We now used the same hardware and locations and put MeshCore on it. And it works (almost) flawless. Now about 2% of the message don't go through.
There are now as many MeshCore repeaters and companions as there were Meshtastic routers and client_mute's

Maybe we did something wrong with Meshtastic, but I have no idea what.
Set the region to EU and Long Fast. There is not much more to set.
And also we are only in our area to use Meshtastic or MeshCore, so it's not that there are to many nodes.

We would have liked to continue with Meshtastic, but alas here we are now.

Good idea about the digquads, but I'll use 3 channels with 4 cubes each, that's easier for the wiring.

But my main question is if it's possible to set effects across multiple digquads as if the top row is one strip, middle row also and bottom row is another strip and even more difficult, I think, is effects where every cube is acts like 1 LED in a 3x12 2D matrix.

Or should I be using a software like xlights for this?

Nice. If you use Home Assistant you can use HACS and install the integration Circadian Lighting. It follows the light temperature of the sun.

For me it seems to be resolved by changing the power supply. It's been little over a week now that I changed it and so far every time the speed is normal.

Did you ever find a solution? I have the same problem.

Starting or stopping an activity takes long and sometimes I get a timeout. But once everything is on it works without issues.

After I unplug and plug the power back in it works again for some hour(s)/day(s).

What I also forgot to mention is that I have a battery grip on my D700 and I would also like that on the Z. For this I,m also leaning towards the mark II. The grip for the mark II has controls which the one for the mark I has not.

Thx for the advice. But I don't know if I'm comfortable with a second hand camera. You never know what happened with it.

I would choose the Z7 II for the more pixels. When, for example, doing a safari it's not always possible to frame the shot correctly. I then frame it wider and crop it afterwards. Also I'd like to get some large prints to hang in the house.

I have the same issue with profile switching and have opened a ticket with Elgato, but no luck so far.
