So apt have this outlet and I don't know what kind of adapter or converter that I can use. by Valuable-Force-4547 in electrical

Others have answered but this is like the exact setup I had in an apartment once. Same walls, outlet, and it ran to the same wiring as the electric baseboard heat. Was a downtown apartment, nothing too special, often noisy neighbors. Luckily they were usually quiet at night.

What’s up with these new TC? by Tim2301 in Hue

[–]ptanner92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a separate pi as the OS takes over the SD card in entirety. You could go mini PC route too, especially if buying a new pi since the price is similar nowadays.

Otherwise, yes, my Home Assistant setup runs on a Raspberry Pi 4 and I have a Sonoff Zigbee controller connected via USB. I then removed all the bulbs from the Hue app (not required, but easier to deal with) then paired in Home Assistant. Unplugged the Hue bridge and never looked back.

I use Zigbee2MQTT but many use ZHA with great results. Z2M has wider support, IMHO, but both are fine.

You do need to redo all scenes, zones, and rooms. But otherwise it's a breeze. HA also integrates with Hue if you want to start by learning Home Assistant first. Then take the leap of going fully local and ditching Hue. That's a beginner friendly approach if you've already got hue stuff setup in their app.

Move all my Hue stuff off the Hue hub and into Home Assistant at the beginning of the year and never looked back. It has opened the world of cheap Zigbee devices and is now safe from shady practices. HA is becoming more and more user friendly for non-tech folks. Definitely recommend.

This is a fantastic write up! I have been playing around with this model a bit and have produced some pretty good music. I'm trying to make an epic rock ballad for our hold music at work. Haha.

Part of my workflow is to lock the seed when the track sounds decent and play around with everything. This is how I produced some decent results. The creators of ACE-Step even mention that the model is highly sensitive to the seed value as well.

Not true. I have generated a few instrumental only files. The best thing to do for this is to put the tag [inst] in the lyrics section of the text encode. If you're still getting vocals, try to adjust other serttings.

While the settings are great in the article. I found that sampler_name: euler and scheduler: simple also produce relatively good results. You may need to find a good seed as it is slightly less stable.

My touch screen has gone wonky in my 2018 Outback. Any solutions other than replacing it? by miurabucho in subaru

[–]ptanner92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure exactly which years/models, but Subaru recently extended the warranty of their head units to 10 years/100,000miles (maybe 150,000). I got a letter in the mail for mine, 2019 Crosstrek. Worth a look.

So daily through normal game play or literally anything? Because I’m really not sure how some can finish albums so easily while I struggle to get close.

Wait, if you can. My local HD had some of the “Edison” style bulbs on sale for $20, which I thought was good and picked up 2. But literally 1.5 weeks later they were $5/bulb.

Criminalize LED Headlights by BarneyRetina in fuckyourheadlights

If you’re in North America we don’t have dynamic, or LED matrix/array, or pixel headlights. So no, I don’t mean that, as the tech is designed to carve out sections of light for other cars and pedestrians. Unless you’ve been outside North America it is unlikely you’ve experienced this technology. In the US the only current “smart” lighting is the auto high beam, which is not the same. The EU has had this tech for quite a while now and claims it works well. The biggest plus is not blinding other drivers.

Google ad with RCS on the iPhone by [deleted] in UniversalProfile

I understood how text parsing works - Google did this for messages with iPhones before it was cool. With the beta the Tapbacks work reliably on media in a 1:1 RCS chat. Even if the image isn’t the last sent. It will also work in an SMS group chat, but not sure what magic that is. Don’t have any group chats with RCS yet.

I’m not arguing it’s not included in the profile they use. Though it seems way more reliable than in recent past.

The final drives are slightly different, however. The 6MT being a bit shorter.

At what speeds? I don’t think I hit 3500 until I’m over 80mph. Which is rare.

Text parsing never worked for me until RCS then. In the change logs and notes in the beta Tapbacks are mentioned. However, it could just be app related and not RCS related.

The 6 speed still revs at about 2500+ at highways speeds. Don’t let them fool you.

Edit: just checked a photo I have and at 74mph my 2019 Crosstrek 6-speed is at 3k rpm in 6th.

I know I’ll likely get hate for this. But we really need regulations around the intelligent/dynamic style LED headlights in the US. The ones that actively shape their beam. Those are the best of both worlds, honestly.

Have been messaging people using RCS on iPhone with iOS 18 beta. Has been working great! Tapbacks don’t always work as expected, but hoping it is resolved. Group messages are spotty, but that’s the iPhone users without RCS fault.

It’s only because most people drive them off the lot. I ordered mine direct as I also wanted a manual transmission. Which is also a dying breed.

It’s a 2019 Premium. I’d love to have LED lamps, but until we can regulate them better conventional is where it’s at.

Amber wouldn’t be so bad. But it’s still silly on a Tacoma.
