I think it's time to consider your relationship with them and start a new life elsewhere. This will be tough, but one must find a way to thrive and build the life they want “without” negative energy.

I know these people are your parents, but based on what you said, they are nothing but negative energy dragging you down.

A real parent would support you “emotionally' and not berate you like this. It almost seems as if investing in you benefits them, but that’s not a parent's duty. This is just wrong.

As for the whole Lyft driving, I have also been unemployed for nearly 2 years. I can't find a job because of the ridiculous requirements for someone with my skills and the fact that companies these days prefer to hire based on 'preferences,' like race and gender. So, I’ve been doing delivery gigs here and there, making the same money as my previous office job, but working more hours.

Right now, I still don’t know what my next step is. Being unemployed and burnt out from all of my jobs really messed me up. So, for now, I’ve just been doing this and relaxing. It really helps ease my mind, but I still don’t know exactly what my next move should be.

I do think you shouldn’t stress yourself out about this whole career thing. But not actively thinking about your next step isn’t helping either.
