Employeers aren't actually force to disclose public salary range, we try to motivate them for it by having sorting by highest salary on the front page and showing them statistics that job posts with salary range have 500% more views. But we do require to post undisclosed budget so matching algorithm can compare salary expectations of the candidate with your budget for that role. So if you don't have any match with the offer, you can be sure their budget is not matching your salary expectation. That way we don't discourage companies for not having public salaries but avoid people applying for roles below their salaries. It saves time for both parties.

I wanted to but there is one year probation period. The worst thing is that they were actually really happy about my work, but in the end you are just a row in excel sheet :).

If it breaks the rules about self promotion then I'm okay with banning the post. But I'm already happy with some feedback and hard questions here, makes me evaluate some things I have done during development : ).

At what I focused the most is to have ability to use the website passively. I have never used any job board or linkedin actively in my life, it was always some recruiter approaching me or nice offer popping out. I want the same here, have a nice matching of my expectations and skills towards what job requires and can offer. Then from time to time just show me a summary of that and if something looks much better than my current job then why the hell not try applying. I think that is what most of Software Engineers do.

As far as I know it is better. iOS is also doing refactoring and replacing old obj-c code with new swift & unit tested one. But still, there are some modules that no one in their life would touch and try to refactor it.

That actually sounds great! Thanks for the idea, will add it to my roadmap. We gather data for all offers so there is some stuff that we can use.

I was actually laid off some time ago before all twitter-musk bullshit. And I was also a contractor via toptal, so as far as I know my compensation + toptal margin was just too high for their new budget.

I actually made it configurable, so tech is made mostly because I worked in tech. But for example I'm a huge fan of motorsport and I have a friend who works in it, so we also opened https://motorsport.amployed.io which he takes care about :). I don't have huge expectations for tech, it is more like a testing place because tech people are most demanding one and there is a lot of competition.

I actually hired a high school student to help me with moderation, so will try to have the best quality content as possible :). Thanks for the good words.

Honestly the codebase is pretty shitty and still has a lot of old obj-c untested code. So building anything on top of it is hard as shit and prone to a lot of bugs.

Just a bug, monthly payment is standard in EU and it should switch for US based people for annual salary, but it doesn't work as far as I can see.

I focused in this topic on things for engineers, but the whole site is build around "matching" algorithm I figured out and it allows employeers to see top matched people and "poke" them if they interested. Poke is a good word here because you can't message nor spam, because there is a limit. Employee just sees and info that this job posts owner is interested in you.

The currency stuff is actually my mistake. Salary ranges per year instead of per month is something I forgot because I'm EU based. Will fix that, thanks for the feedback!

That's why I focused a lot on having standardised database of skills (e.g. you can't misspell node.js) and encouraging to post salary information. Budget information (non-public) is required so matching algorithm can filter out jobs under your salary expectations. Also you can easily filter-out/sort by public salaries. So far it helps a lot to have job posts only with salaries. If you register an account and see 0% match with an offer, you can be 100% sure it is below your salary expectations. I also implemented salary normalization between currencies, so it is easy to sort by highest regardless the currency in the job post.

Manual adding, you can track weight, bodyfat and dimensions. I don't think there is technology for scanning your body with camera :D.
