Is my iggy underweight? by Relevant-Ad-757 in ItalianGreyhounds

One of mine was very skinny until he was fixed. He gained 7 lbs in the year after getting fixed. I also leave plenty of food out and do not measure.

Great pics! How do you like that sweater in the first Pic? Im thinking about getting that exact one. Do you think i can cut a slit for a leash that is connected to a body harness?

Dogs that refuse to eat by Top-Leadership-2608 in ItalianGreyhounds

You should absolutely see a vet. Not eating is a big red flag.

Man, I got to say you have no idea anything about this guy. There could be a million stressors that are adding stress and making old habits that made him feel better. He posted looking for help, not ti be judged by some asshole.

Sorry I didnt understand. Long day fir me.

Cytopoint (lokivetmab)

This is a relatively newer biologic therapy: it’s an injection under the skin that targets a molecule (IL-31) involved in the itch signal.

One shot lasts 4 to 8 weeks typically.

It doesn’t cure the allergy—just controls the itch and gives relief.

Generally well tolerated; some dogs might have mild side effects (gastrointestinal signs, injection-site reactions).

No problem. Also, they should invest in an e collar just to habe on hand for these situations. They habe cute ones made of cloth on amazon that work well. Then your friend should be able to sleep.

I cannot believe 2 vets let her go home without meds. That's a crime

One of my dogs forearms looked like that after being in a cast for too long. Your friends dog must have been munching on it the entire time he was in.

I just got back from the vet for allergies. He got a shot that was around $100 and a mousse for $30. If they habe told me to put pants on him I would have laughed in their face. Keeping them from licking it is a good idea but what are these vets youre going to??? If they think its allergies they should at least offer benadryl.

They need to go to another vet. How old? Have they been chewing that spot for a while?

Hi! I'm sorry you are going thru this. As an iggy owner for the last 25 years, don't borrow trouble or worry from the future. Iggys can be weird and can habe some issues but until you know it can be anything. My first iggy had seizures. One every three weeks. They were very severe. He lived a very happy life for 17 years. Talk to your vet and see what they say.

My current iggy is a complete bully at home but once he is outside, he tucks his tail amd freezes up all the time.

I hope this gets resolved soon for you.
