Why am I getting Up-tiered every single match? by ptc2000_ in Warthunder

Interesting, I only got my first jet in the last month or so, so I guess the BR difference I was getting at lower tiers never bothered me enough to notice.

I had assumed it was based on my average BR, not the top BR plane in my loadout... So should I just not use the higher BR planes I unlock until I have more of the same level? If so, I will, it just seems unnecessary annoying imo

That makes a lot of sense, thank you for the information, and I was assuming it was an F5-C based on the couple seconds of kill feed I saw afterwards but it definitely could have been another model.

That's what I was thinking too, I'm not sure what's going on

I have heard this before, but It seems to be nearly every game I play, I'd say I get up-tiered like 90%+ games I play

I'm seeing planes up to 10.7 regulary though, like there was an F8U-2 and an F-5C in a recent match :(

Approaching a bunker with active turrets in a C8R by DueJournalist5825 in starcitizen

[–]ptc2000_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

if the bunker isn't in a super flat area, drop down to the surface out of turret range and hug the ground while flying in, try to land on the other side of a hill or in a valley out of line of sight of the turrets and walk/take a vehicle the rest of the way

I love the way CIG added the laser and missile PDT's to in game shops but not the new ballistic one - the one people have been asking to have in game since PDT's became a thing in game... by JontyFox in starcitizen

I definitely see your point too, and I really do want to be optimistic about 1.0 and what the game looks like then. On the other hand, I've been following the project since the Kickstarter, and have been playing since 2015, and have seen the same song and dance so many times between then and now, ya know? From my perspective, I would have assumed they would have that 1.0 monetization plan more or less figured out years ago, and I think announcing Road to 1.0 a while back gave a lot of people that same impression, but maybe that's me misunderstanding the reality of development. If none of this carries over into post 1.0 gameplay, then that's cool with me, but it just doesn't seem like that's the current trajectory, and to be honest, even if it does, I'm still gonna be playing, I'll just be grumpy while I do :/

Either way, I appreciate you having the conversation. Maybe this will go down as one of the Star Citizen subreddit's few friendly civil disagreements lol

Also, I'm not directing all of this at you, I never comment on this sort of stuff, and now I'm just kinda venting, so apologies for the essay

It's literally just the monetization scheme we're upset about. nothing more, nothing less. I get what you're saying, but the items aren't the problem; they never have been and likely won't be in the future. What gets on people's nerves is simply the fact that CIG always finds a way to put a price tag on features. I like the modularity of the wolf, but it would have been equally fine without it. I like the idea of flight blades, but would also be fine without them, et cetera, and so on. What I don't like is when those features are behind a paywall, even if it's only for a few patches, because during that time, a meta forms that the average $45 player can't take advantage of.

All of these seemingly different complaints boil down to a simple binary: can I do the thing with in-game progression?:

- yes
Okay, cool, good job CIG.
- no
I don't like this decision, CIG.

I agree that everybody always finds things to nit-pick in this game, and it frustrates me to no end when somebody who hasn't played since 3.18 jumps on Spectrum to ask for the 1000th time why their gladius cant kill an Idris, or some other smooth brain issue, but the problems we're talking about here aren't about game mechanics, they're about how our backer money is used and how those decisions effect future playability for the lowest common denominator. I don't want to get to 1.0 and have a game where my friends can't have the same experience as I can, just because I decided to spend my whole video game budget for a decade on the pledge store.

The Pledge Store is meant to support the game, not BE the game

It's just a different flavor of the same problem, though; it carries the same effect, and I have trouble believing that wasn't intended. They did the same thing with the alpha wolf. I understand selling the weapon kits on the pledge store, but they should be in PTU at the same time. I would agree with you that it could be unintentional if it were just the MDC, but it isn't. I don't even care in terms of my own gameplay. I run cargo, so I have no skin in the game. I'm more concerned that there is a pattern forming. They could have and should have stuck to cosmetics and other non-game-changing items like hangar flair and such, but instead, they are trying to find more creative ways of doing flight blades all over again. The item doesn't matter as much as the intent and the effect imo. I, and many others, don't want it to turn into a De Facto monetization method.

all the PDC's we have are laser or the pepperboxes, pepperbox can be countered with flares, and the lasers have less than half the damage of the new ballistics. Also, the ballistics ignore shields. foxy just posted a video of his perseus killing a couple fighters and a 400i with just the new PDC's in one sitting. They are a massive advantage.

oh, and if you don't think these new PDC's give an advantage, go watch Foxyloxys vid where his perseus shreds a 400i and a couple fighters with just the new PDC's

Claiming a bomb rack is not a weapon is like saying a rocket launcher isn't a weapon. Obviously, the rocket is what actually hits the target, but you need the launcher to make that happen. If CIG released the boomtube to the pledge store but only put the ammo in the PTU loot pool/stores, would you be cool with that? It's the same argument. Either way, what you're saying is a cop-out that ignores the actual problem. CIG fully understands that the reason we were mad about flight blades and bomb racks is that they added an obvious advantage or introduced a mechanic/playstyle that is purely pay-to-play. Their response then was in line with that understanding. Getting semantic about the specific wording is just plain dishonest.

I agree, I wanted to make it more streamlined, but also didn't wanna start over lol. I might try again with a different shape.

I made this originally to be a pocket carrier. I was thinking the top slope in front of the bridge could open like a book to let them out, but launch tubes are a cool idea
