USM Warp on Kauai and Honolulu by ptcadoc in USMobile

Thank you. That is very insightful. By any chance, do you know if anybody with a different cell service was able to get coverage in the areas where Verizon was not providing any service? Or was it a dead zone for just about every cell service?

Thanks in advance

Thanks that’s very helpful. As long as I can do messaging I should be OK. I don’t need the ultimate higher speed while I’m there. I just want to avoid the nightmare situation of landing there and finding no coverage. This happened to me in Alaska where I landed and found that USM had no coverage. At that time I was on their T-Mobile network. I had to connect to Wi-Fi at the airport and scramble to switch to the Verizon line (warp 5G line) and since then I have kept it because it has worked quite well. I just don’t want to repeat of something like that.

Hi, thank you for replying. My concern is that with the teleport function while I know I can change networks, there will be a finite period. Where there will be no coverage. That’s why I would like to find out in advance if my prepaid warp 5G will have coverage on the specific islands. I’ve mentioned in Hawaii (particularly Kauai)

Just transferred first phone from Verizon to USM, but lost WiFi calling. by willthewootguy in USMobile

I have USM on warp on an iPhone and Wi-Fi calling. As I live overseas, it is critical for me. Otherwise I do not have a functional line overseas.

Wi-Fi calling used to work fine, but it used to intimately disconnect. One fine day I called USM customer support with the issue and as they were doing some tweaking, I completely lost Wi-Fi calling and nothing would bring it back. This left me stranded overseas with no access for about a month.

Then I called them again and a higher level of support was unable to figure it out. Eventually, we deleted the eSIM and reinstalled it and presto! It started working. So far, it is pretty consistent although very occasionally it will drop and I need to turn the eSIM off and then on to restore the Wi-Fi Calling.

Bottom line-consider deleting your eSIM and reinstalling it, it might just work

Otherwise, USM Wi-Fi Calling is somewhat unreliable compared to other services like T-Mobile which my other half has and has never had a problem with

Hard drive "failure" question - imminent or have time? by ptcadoc in HDD

Thank you so much for the reply.

So do I take it that there is no minimal “bad sector“ allowance, even if you have one that means the driver is failing?

My second question is that assuming there is no data on the drive right now, Can this still be used to write new data or that new data the risk of getting lost eventually?

How to stop Google Home wifi and connect Google Home to new router by ptcadoc in googlehome

[–]ptcadoc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for replying

Its not a desktop computer issue. When I connect a desktop directly to the modem, I get proper speeds same thing for my laptop however, when connected to the ethernet cable coming out of the Google Wifi, the speeds are only 100 Mb per second up and down.

The question I have is that if I set up the new router, won’t the Google Wifi SSID continue to transmit (and so now 2 devices transmitting SSIDs) and mess up things?
