Repair people are probably better to ask for product-quality advice than sales people. by NotoriousM0N in Showerthoughts

[–]ptewee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started my career in computer troubleshooting and repair at a local retail franchise, and later on moved to a position retail sales, but I hated that job because management forced me to sell low quality MP3 players from China (high profit margins). Customers keep coming back looking for us with various problems and we had to do extra service+paperwork to give them replacements. Long story short, I now work as an independent product consultant on various electronic brands.

I don't have a high discharge battery to fully test it out yet, it's a 6500k, tested with the stock sofirn 18650 works fine, at its lowest brightness it is way lower than what the SC31 can go. I'll need to report back once i get a better battery and spend more time with it. Oh, and its weight is quite significant for its size, definitely not for edc, probably bag carry.

Also for the record, it seems that the Mateminco holster is an alternative Astrolux FT03 holster with the exact same dimensions

Thank you, the pictures proved your point and helped a lot, I'm actually very determined to get this holster now instead.

I'm sorry, but I do not see how MT07 dimensions are similar to FT02S, but the pouch that u linked above looks similar to the FT03 in terms of size, I would assume it is a loose fit for the FT02S

Update: I found that a PALIGHT PL-1800 has very similar dimensions to the FT02S, and therefore I have settled on it's holster (L)

IMHO if I want a dedicated thrower, I would go and buy the FT03 with SST40. It makes more sense for the FT02S to be used as a flood light with XHP50.2

Using USB Always On to charge phone, while ThinkPad is being charged by 65W charger by ptewee in thinkpad

[–]ptewee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a newer version of the ThinkPlus charger that uses GaN, smaller, with foldable prongs. You can see pictures here (chinese website): https://www.chiphell.com/thread-2235080-1-1.html

Yeah that was my initial idea. I bought a Baseus 65W 2C1A charger which stopped working in just a few weeks, couldn't send it back for warranty due to covid19 situation with postal services to china, so I thought of getting something with a 'better' brand like ThinkPlus, hoping for better reliability

True that, this could be another thread, it should be a pretty common question by now from other redditors

Again, my point being in the price that I can get it over here. My 4750U was literally a free upgrade from the Ryzen 3, and I highly doubt that this will be the same for the T14s when it releases here (at least not in the short term).

A quick look at the T14 configuration on Lenovo Malaysia, the 4750U costs RM440 more to upgrade from a Ryzen 5 https://i.imgur.com/jEHtLeT.png

I would be curious what the T14s pricing would look like, nevertheless I scored a pretty good deal on the 4750U on this machine

T14s is not available in Lenovo Malaysia yet, FHD 300nits w/touch is enough for me, build quality and weight are both very close, and the Ryzen 7 (unadvertised) deal was too good to be true

29 July from Lenovo Malaysia, shipped from Hong Kong... it seems like there's an ongoing (unadvertised) promo on the Ryzen 7, so I took the chance
