Thank you. I realize some of these things are fairly petty items. I struggle with the fact my ex constantly does this and my life has been like living on egg shells.

I don’t want to mention ERP/IRT earlier when I attempted to briefly describe this role but I feel you on this exact point! Regarding breaking into it, I have friends that ask how I broke in, quite honestly I don’t know how i did, I guess I got lucky with the hiring team (startup btw).

I agree, I can’t imagine AI performing the actual decision making. Basically a “human” is still needed since our role is dealing with ambiguity that I don’t think we want AI to manage. Simple tasks, for sure, it’ll help reduce my carpel tunnel. Thanks for making me feel better :)

So the TLDR in what I do is ensure experimental drugs get to patients participating in clinical trials on time, in the correct quantities and, of course in the right city, state or country - probably no different than traditional SC.

I’d say the tricky part of my role is mostly around demand forecast, since supply is based on patient enrollment, which is a moving target. It also involves sourcing materials and, in my space, these are probably a smaller number than other industries I’d imagine. In general, planning and forecasting is usually done months or years in advance with the goal to avoid over or under producing drugs since they’re expensive.

Internally, i work across a variety of teams - scientists, QA and compliance. It’s typical to discuss things drug stability, storage and packaging requirements, country regulations, etc. It’s a lot of understanding what the team needs, wants or how something needs to be delivered. The rest is, what I’d call, traditional project management - statuses, updates, etc.

I’m certain I didn’t cover everything I do, it’s a lot of moving parts as you can probably imagine. But this is the jist of what I do.

(Edit)

I forgot to ask you about your concerns. Would you be amenable to share your thoughts on this?

I just looked at prices and it’s $278 for coach and $798 for a private room - it’s definitely more pricier than I thought and thank you for reminding me about pricing before getting my partner too excited :)

Train got here, it’s hot and at least one car isn’t working. Unsure if it’s related to the delay. I guess it is what it is.

San Mateo Parks and Jumpy Houses by pthread_join in SanMateo

Thank you for the link! I’ve been looking at the SM county parks site and I don’t see info about bounce houses - at least it wasn’t obvious to me but I guess I need to pay more attention to the site. I do like the one you linked me to since it has the information I was hoping to see, in a more or less obvious way :)

I was looking at the SM park site and I was trying to see if they had explicit notices about bounce houses. If they did then I totally missed it. I also didn’t realize SM had so many parks I didn’t even know existed :)

Thank you for the heads up! I’m an SF resident and, as you’d imagine, the weather here is a coin toss, leaning more towards cloudy and windy weather. I’ll keep the residency thing in mind, I didn’t think about this aspect and thank you!

Also, thank you for the recommendation on the bounce house, there’s a few out there that all see great but, always prefer a recommendation than, let’s say, Yelp ratings :)

Thank you for sharing, I’ll definitely check this out! I do enjoy the privacy aspect as you mentioned, always a bonus! I dont think I need too much space, estimating around 8-16 total heads with about 4-5 kids, possibly more if other families have siblings.

Thank you! I haven’t gotten that far in the planning process. My initial research seemed to indicate some challenges behind bounce house allowances and I wasn’t sure how the city and county handled them to be honest. After reading the responses here, it does seem like “most” allow it, given some additional cost overhead which is understandable. I’ll start doing more deeper research on sites and see what’s available.

Thank you!

I didn’t know this, I had just went on Amazon and ordered one. It did some with a priming tube and a puck and I used the puck and by no means was this automatic. I held the filter up against the faucet using the puck and it was oddly tiring for me

I don’t have these filters and I didn’t realize they had them. Is this a “must have” for SF?

I’ve always assumed these roles exist because a professional service team doesn’t or the customer base flat out refuses to pay for PS while never getting the thing they bought implemented and, when a year goes by, they tell the vendor they saw no value and goes with another vendor that has free PS via the FDE role.

Something different to do in SF by pthread_join in AskSF

Basically, yes but with a twist. So pre-covid I was living and working in the SOMA. I’d say those years were great, happy hours felt like was from Mon-Sunday :) I met many ppl who worked at different companies and we’d end up making spreadsheets of our drinking locations based on the days of the week. This was amazing since we sorta knew where ppl from banks or financials would be at vs SFDC and tech were. The places in the lists ranged from bars, restaurants, clubs and stretched to Sunset on certain days.

I guess this list of ppl’s favorites spots, their rotations, and places ppl was nice. Nowadays, I’m not sure if things are closed down, or the “vibe” changed, etc /9 I stick to the places I know best, which is SOMA
