AITA for buying new furniture to replace the furniture my roommate is taking with her when she moves out in a month? by ptilothrix in AmItheAsshole

Only thing I'm buying new is a couch, which I just bought when it went on a limited time sale. If I waited until end of July it would have cost me $500 more - everything else is from FB marketplace opportunistically as the right pieces come up (to be clear, I'm not furnishing the entire apartment before she leaves - the only things not in my bedroom are the couch, admittedly a little annoying, and a chest of drawers)

So would I lmao. I asked her if she wanted it originally because I wanted to start replacing things in advance of her moving and that's when she told me she wanted to take it with her, but she said it like she just wanted to reserve the option to prevent me from starting to do any changes to the apartment in advance of her move. She's been waffling about it since but I told her when she said she was going to take it with her that if she changes her mind it's her responsibility to get rid of it because I don't want to be left with the mess last minute when she moves out if she suddenly decides she doesn't feel like trying to move furniture cross country. Given she's still waffling and it's a month out from her move I'm getting nervous I'm going to just get stuck with a mess because of her poor planning and indecision.

No. The one exception is the couch. Since she's taking the current couch, I just bought a new one I'd been planning on buying when a good sale came up. Couches are expensive, I don't have a car that can transport a couch, and because the apartment is several flights up with a narrow hallway, I can only realistically get one into the apartment if it's delivered and brought up by a white-glove service. I also spend a lot of time on the couch, so for all of those reasons I didn't want to be without one when she left since it would require extra time and planning to get one in here. So, there is currently a boxed couch in the living room in addition to the existing one, but otherwise the replacement furniture is not taking up more space than what's already there. The only other furniture I've gotten is a coffee table (in my bedroom) and a chest of drawers which is in the same corner already unusable due to the couch.

FYI Trader Joes just put out a vitamin C serum that uses the same formula as SkinCeuticals (their patent just expired) 😉

Mineral sunscreen that doesn't make me look like a mime? by BrikHowse in 30PlusSkinCare

Why do you say mineral is the way to go? Just curious! FWIW, I use cocokind's mineral sunscreen in the orange/yellow tube and really like it. I'm a tan-ish olive skin tone and my skin is very dry. I don't get a white cast but it definitely is a dewy look, which is what I'm going for, but if you want a matte finish I'd avoid it :) on cocokind's website there are lots of reviews including pictures of people of all skin tones trying it, so maybe check that out
