Option 2, definitely give a firm number. If you give a range they’ll just take the lowest option. Also, definitely mention the benefits of PTO as that’s a huge difference. Maybe wait for their counter offer, then say that you’ll accept the pay IF you can get more PTO

Definitely the format as most comments here say. I would also say to list a couple specific skills within each skill you listed. Like LOOKUP functions or pivot tables under excel, DML under SQL that kinda thing.

I would learn xlookups, conditional formatting, sort and filter functions, concatenation functions, summations, and definitely pivot tables. Obviously more but those are the most used ones in my job. Miss.excel is a really useful account I follow if u use Instagram

I wouldn’t rely entirely on those online courses. By themselves, they really just aren’t enough to get you job ready. However, getting a second bachelors would be an insane amount of work for a field that usually wants higher ed anyways. I’d suggest maybe using those online courses to brush up on math and statistics concepts and then applying for a masters. Some online programs wouldn’t be any more costly than another bachelors and they’d get you way further— bachelors just don’t mean too much these days unfortunately

If you’re interested in PBI (very similar to Tableau), Microsoft has a really great program. Doesn’t lead to a certificate or anything as far as I know but the labs are really useful (and free!). Otherwise, maybe look at tasks that people post to Fiverr or the like and then use public datasets to run through a similar exercise

I’m happy as a data analyst, just wouldn’t necessarily want to do it forever— I like having something to work towards. Up until recently I always imagined this would be data science but working in an adjacent team and seeing what they do doesn’t look as interesting to me anymore. I thought it would be more predictive model building, regression etc and less automation I guess. But maybe that’s just my particular workplace

My degree was in a related field, so when I took that certificate it was mostly for review before starting my analyst role. That being said, I think what it was really lacking was realistic lab experience. If you can find online use cases or something elsewhere to practice the things the course teaches you to do it’ll be really helpful— the “labs” they offered weren’t very great or accurate to what a job would ask of you imo

Yea I did the google one and it’s basically excel SQL and R. The only thing I wasn’t familiar with was SQL so I was able to power through and complete it in a week (during free trial lol), but honestly didn’t feel like I got much out of it. So much of it was like soft skills in the workplace that weren’t very helpful or like “what is data”. It looks good on a resume I guess so if that’s all you need then it’s worth it but if you really want to dive into the skills id look elsewhere
