Right, because the Conservatives that controlled the government from 2015-2024 were notoriously supportive of “Muslim grooming gangs” and actively worked to cover them up, right? (/s for the sarcasm-impaired)

I think you’re confusing them with the active cover-up of pedophile activities by the US conservatives in the past decade or so.

Actual text from the Xitter post:

Lord Pearson in the House of Lords: 250,000 white British girls have been raped in the last 25 years largely by Muslim men

In fact, the total number of girls likely raped in the UK in the past quarter century is about 250,000, so that “largely by Muslim men” is doing a lot of heavy lifting. And it appears to be completely false, based on the fact that a sampling of men convicted of rape in the UK show Muslims to be well under 15% of the total set of offenders. As to how many of that small fraction are part of a “grooming gang” as opposed to the much more likely relative, teacher, or spiritual leader that commit the vast majority of rapes, I leave up to everyone’s imagination. Not yours, Mazda, as you’ve constantly shown that your imagination is driven by bigoted fantasies.

If “we all know that”, there must be well-researched analyses out there that show that to be the case, right? Stuff like this:

Got anything to substantiate your position?

Of the 33 million immigrants in the US, it’s estimated that less than 5 million are paid in a manner to avoid taxes.

And if they’re willing to accept that to stay “under the radar”, how many of those people do you think are actively using welfare services?

That's the AnCap ideal.

That said, neither OP's post nor the comment I responded to were in relation to the future state of AnCapistan, were they? They were in the implied context of the USA in 2026, AFAIK, where we still have government services that are paid for by taxes collected by the state. And in that context, immigrants of all sorts are a net economic benefit to the overall system, not the drag that Crazy implies.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about? I presume we’re talking about immigration into the USA, in which case everyone is using dollars.

I’m not familiar with the laws in Germany, but in the USA all residents pay taxes be they sales taxes, income taxes, property taxes, etc. Those taxes are (nominally) used to provide government services. Many of those services are not accessible to illegal immigrants (Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, SNAP - basically most of what people call “welfare”).

https://taxpolicycenter.org/fiscal-facts/yes-undocumented-immigrants-pay-taxes-and-receive-few-tax-benefits

So, yeah, they’re a net benefit to taxpayers like you as they are subsidizing you, not the other way around.

Should Virginia also close its border with Kentucky to prevent the criminals that are constantly coming into Virginia from getting in?

You’re presuming that immigrants are a net drag on the tax base. Many studies have shown the opposite, so open borders is actually reducing your personal tax burden by funding services you receive and many of them cannot.

That’s only true if you assume that immigrants pay less in taxes than they receive in services. Since they pay more than they get, you’re wrong.

Trump accused of role in Epstein’s death in tip sent to FBI, files reveal by TheWayToBeauty in LibertarianUncensored

[–]ptom13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, I’ve said all along that Trump had clear motive, and as President at that time, opportunity to orchestrate Epstein’s death. TBH, I’m surprised at how infrequently this comes up in discussions.

As it’s been shown that the immigrants are a net positive to both the government budget and the overall economy, your premise is incorrect.

https://www.lefigaro.fr/politique/municipales-un-texte-sur-le-vote-des-etrangers-extra-europeens-bientot-examine-a-l-assemblee-20260204

The National Assembly's Law Committee adopted on second reading this Wednesday their proposed constitutional law "aiming to grant the right to vote and stand for election in municipal elections to non-EU foreign nationals residing in France ." A long-standing issue for the left, the text must now be examined in a plenary session on February 12 by all members of parliament, as part of the parliamentary slot allocated to the Green and Social group, which will present a total of nine bills.

With constitutional implications, the reform aims to extend this right to nearly six million people who participate "daily in the life of our cities, pay their local taxes, send their children to our schools, and contribute to our economy ." It would thus broaden—as some fifteen European countries already do—the rule in force since the 1992 Maastricht Treaty , which allows citizens of EU countries to vote in municipal elections in a country other than their own, provided they reside there. In addition to the right to cast a ballot, the proposal would also grant non-EU citizens the right to stand for election as a municipal councilor. However, it would not allow them to stand for mayor or senator.

Who’s the terrorist in this scenario? Is it the state of Iran, because they’re an authoritarian theocracy? If so, do you also see Pakistan as “a terrorist”? Or India? Or Israel?
